I've got the itch to get a pistol again.

UH OH.

Went down to the local gun store and he had a Para GI Expert which I played with for a bit. Looks pretty nice. I have a Smith & Wesson 1911 stainless, but who can stop at just one 1911 right???

Anyone here own one? The trigger didn't feel quite as good as my $830.00 SW1911, but it wasn't bad.

Also, I can't seem to find any 3-dot night sights for it. I'm not sure which make (if any) of Trijicon would fit it. I like the green front dot and yellow rear dots.

My only gripe is I wish it came in a railed model but oh well

Re: Para GI Expert got questions. Night sights avail?

You don't really need any sights much less night sights for a 1911 that

1) Fits you perfectly, including modifications to front strap, safetys and mainspring housing as necessary.

2) You have practiced with enough to know it does indeed fit you and points just like your finger. And I mean hitting the center of the target every time, not just (it sticks out of my hand)

If you can't see the target in the first place, night sights won't help any, If you can see it, you don't need them. (They are pretty Tacti-Kool though)

What is not happy making about the trigger? If it is gritty, do not buy it. If it is just a bit heavy (lawsuit prevention) swap out for a new trigger spring or better yet just bend it back 1/16 or so and drop it down to +/- 4.5# (I run mine at 3.5, but that is me)

Night sights are very handy for finding your pistol on the nightstand in the dark. Just make sure you can see the sights after you turn out the light.

However, if you can't see a potential threat well enough to identify it as such, which would mean there is enough light to see the sights without the benefit of night sights, how could you justify the use of lethal force to a grand jury?
