You need to respect LE. They are just doing their jobs.

No, we do not need to respect people who abuse their power. And no, they are not just doing their jobs. They should be fired and sued.

We have had quite enough bully behavior from law enforcement. The bullies and miscreants need to be weeded out. I think there is something seriously wrong in the recruiting program. And there is something seriously wrong in supervision as well.

Here is a bad apple who was disposed of fairly quickly after the investigation started:

https://www.ksl.com/?sid=46307345&n...chief-fired-after-investigation-of-misconduct

Sadly it took years of misbehavior and complaints of the misbehavior before the investigation was started. And that seems to be typical.

Legal term is adversarial, not antagonistic, the whole legal system from 1776 is adversarial in design.

An officer investigating or interviewing to see if a crime has been committed is an investigator.
An officer investigating or interviewing if a crime has been committed is technically an adversary to the guilty, an investigator to the innocent.

Antagonist per Webster's is not the above.

And depending on whether you are the butthurt husband or wife, the other spouse may qualify under Webster's but the antagonist probably doesn't think that of themselves until certain criteria are met.

My previous post does not indicate I in any way support those police actions.

1) I'm not a lawyer.
2) Bet the kid thought the cops were antagonistic.

Bullshit. They were over the line, and those like you who refuse to acknowledge this and defend them only feed the perception that law enforcement will protect their own at all costs, and therefore none can be trusted. You are your own worst enemy, the kind that make it hard to teach my kids.

Here we had an officer who was drunk on duty strike and kill a motorcyclist. Favors given to make sure the draw was inadmissible. Union stood behind him. Later on evidence was "disappeared" from the evidence room. It took a second DUI incident on parole and a huge backlash for the union to withdraw support. Throughout it was clear he was guilty as hell but protected.

When you act like the enemy, you ARE the enemy. And if you defend those practices, you too are the enemy. The only thing worse than bad law enforcement is those who institutionalize such bad behavior by refusing to cleanse their own ranks.

"Those like me".
You have me confused with someone else. I'm not defending them at all.
Merely pointed out they are fallible humans just like you, and if you make them your enemy, and tit for tat, they named you their enemy, the us vs them will grow , until somebody ramps it up.

In fact, in great part, it has already ramped up, especially if you believe all the rant posts here and otherwise.

If you think that's defending them, you are mistaken. It's much closer to a mission brief prudent people pay attention to.

And since you missed a few posts where it has been stated I prosecuted, put in jail, and fired those kinds, you don't know me at all, so, if you want to classify me as your enemy, go ahead. It doesn't bother me at all. Been on the two way range b4... after 37 years , I'm real comfortable there, when you name me and my kind your enemy, I hope you are real comfortable there too.

Me thinks it is agenda driven behavior . Lokks like bullying yes but you can bet your ass that this was a plnned inquisition .

It's obviously agenda driven.
1. Kid and parent do legal sporting activity.
2. Kid reports on social media just like a couple million kids do.
3. Kid comes under peer pressure against his chosen sporting venue.
4. Kid doesn't back off.
5. Kid called to office, separated from comfort zone (no different from prisoner isolation in other venues)(to help prep him for what came)
6. Not one, but two, and did I miss it, three, officers grill him about a legal activity.
7. Peer pressure, peer reportage, authoritarian negative questioning him, all pushing him to make a mistake and or back off from a legal activity...

This is absolutely identical to thousands of reports from Stalin's purges and the show trials.
We know from history Stalin's agenda.
We know from experience, the current anti gun agenda.
All this seems so clear to me and several of you here.

The question is how do we get all those neutral fish in the sea to swim with our side, b4 the "quasi reds" for lack of a better term, get them all to side against us....
The 1940's Philippine campaign against the Huks gives US a clear cut method to win those neutral people to our side.
Now, it's up to us to get on that hard.

One of the winning methods was to turn the police away from the crooked side and turn them into the people's friends, much like the many arguments here, and THAT unavoidably has to be done.
Magsaysay and Lansdale had a very uphill fight but did it. We can too....

So, as many of these topics go, how do we, those of us here, organize, and promote our agenda, to kick theirs in the ass?

Good luck with all that.

It's already muh pension muh dental is why I'm enforcing these unconstitutional decrees.

There's a reason they don't do much psych testing anymore and just fill the ranks with yes men.

Good luck with all that.

Luck may play a part, but, success, based on study, depends on more than luck.

The Philippines and Malaysia proved it could be done.
Lansdale was over ruled in Vietnam, and blunt force was used. Tell me how many years at war and how many dead ?
And those who wanted to use Lansdale's proven system wanted to use it in Iraq and Afghanistan. They were over ruled and blunt force was used. Tell me how many years and casualties there.... just sayin.
Lansdale's system is a proven business model as well, the most successful employee oriented businesses have used it to multimillionaire.....

There are answers to this besides blunt force. I'm just putting them out there to educate.....
Somebody said on the board, nobody was offering solutions, just defending one point of view or the other, so.... I give you proven solutions. Nothing more.

And I'm not going into the pension and dental argument because I've seen too many people total, prostitute themselves to a pension and dental to just point at one group and ignore that there is a fix if we ALL work at it.

^ I guess I'm just a defeatist because I think big gov/1984/socialism/idiocracy is coming with no way to stop it

It is inevitable when we are paying the rat class to reproduce plus importing millions of welfare people from shithole countries.

Back in the Sixties, a lot of conversations would begin "Come the revolution..., things will be different...".

Those conversations used to be among us, but we have changed from the bright eyed young Liberals who owned nothing and dreamed of incontrovertible equality, like we knew just what that meant, to the hard worked, family responsible owners of real, if modest, wealth Conservatives who voted to drain that swamp, and put a man in charge who has at least the real inclination to do so.

When that revolution comes, and it's the same one that's been coming since the '60's, among the same people, I think it's going to begin in places like the Police departments, and County/State officers ranks, where suck-ass sycophantic progressives have been cherry picked into the key leadership positions by their political extra-departmental superiors.

They have been employed to throttle the rank and file into toeing lines that go not only against those rank and file officers' personal grain, but lately, against the law and the Republic itself.

Well, 'come the revolution...', those things will change.

That's something I can't effect or initiate, but I can still hope real hard for all I'm worth. I think it's already begun in small ways, as such things do like this vote of confidence.

The Swamp still commands real power. It can dispatch minions to force edicts upon a trusting populace, just like what's been going on along the coasts. It holds power by stacking the deck electorally, then preempting the will of the voters they purport to represent. But Bloomberg and Soros, Ted Turner, and Oprah are not elected leaders. Yet they still wield a lot of power among and through the Swamp.

This vote of confidence is the first prying at the fingers which point the way the Swamp wants things to be going.

The real change has finally begun.

Vigilance is never wasted.

Worry less avout the "rat class" and more about the people who take your money to give it to them. There is one way to stop it,.....

Highlighting the second paragraph. There is too much stupid shit done that is fine by the courts (legal?) but not kosher.

Victoria Armstrong was at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater when two detectives showed up and held the hands of her fiance, Linus Phillip, to the fingerprint sensor on his phone

And a blue million more stories making headlines. It's like WTF were they thinking? Without a doubt not winning the hearts and minds.

I am wondering what the whole story is.
The officers wrote it up as an information report.
The school was not concerned about it, as they were satisfied no threats were made.

The "victim" had apparently been advocating for more in depth investigations into threats, right up until he was the person being investigated.

Now, "that" sounds like a true false flag....sounds... just sayin.

The players (and that's what they are, players) in the Parkland passion play are being deliberately shallow, avoiding the consideration of consequences, pushing for fundamental alterations of society and individual rights without any real thought for the implications inherent in their demands.

They are being driven by their Bloomberg Everytown agitprop handlers, and matters are running exactly according to script.

The plan is to ram home the bans before considering just what they entail; to wreak oppression before the sheep look up and see the wolf with the shepherd's crook firmly in hand.

Even sheep have teeth. And their eyes are opening now; opening wide.

Wait for it..., wait for it...

In my state you question a juvenile without counsel or a parent present you are in trouble.

People are being conditioned that there are no rules when it comes to going after guns.

In the new communist USA though parents wont exist, the state becomes the parent.

Who was it that wrote that book "It Takes a Village" ?

Bounced this off my wife, she x FL teacher. They can legally question him up until he states he wants his parents or legal guardian present. That is the same as me or you stating we want a lawyer.

My wife also said the the police officers crossed the line in how they handled the questioning if the article is correct. By making him feel he could not leave of his own free will it went from a custodial interview to criminal and were required to Mirandize him and notify the parents or legal guardians. They also willfully violated his civil rights by detainment, harassment, and coercion since it was stated he had done nothing wrong.

https://www.attorney-fisher.com/florida-criminal-defense/2017/02/14/kids-rights-at-school/

Bottom line they took advantage of the fact that he is a minior and were 100% in the wrong on how they questioned him. This is how police go from good guys to bad.

Who was it that wrote that book "It Takes a Village" ?

The only thing she ever said I agree with...but not how she thinks.

Growing up, aunts, uncles, grandparents, even neighbors would discipline kids.

Thats not what she meant though.

I bet if you were to chastise a young Chelsea as she tried to post political pamphlets on your property Bill and Hill would have a shit fit for you interfering with their daughter.

But in our case her goal is that the Village owns the kids.

Who was that dumb MSNBC talking head that came out during the Obama admin basically stating that the Community owns the kids....stand by while I Google Fu.

Here it is. Sorry she didnt say Community she was very Communist and went to the collective....

Because the government provides public services like schools the govt therefore owns the product of those schools. Never mind that you pay taxes and the government is the servant to you. You should thank the government daily that they let you take home some of your wages.

That Melissa Harris shit was not by mistake.

It was a trial balloon to see how much resistance it would generate.

and that "Lean Forward" at the end is a direct shout out to.....

Never heard this Lansdale thing. Can you point me to reading material, please?

Also, hypothetically, if a good 65-80% of a police department congregated in the biggest room in the PD and told another officer, perhaps one wearing brass, that they are all strongly in favor of that person stepping down immediately, what would happen?

@QuickNDirty

Hypothetically, damn if I know in today's world.
I don't know enough millennial officers with big enough balls to do it on their own, and I worked with several who had multiple combat tours, they weren't cowards by any means, but if there was nothing in it for them, they left rather than confront.

I worked enough millennials to know they are fine with good leadership.

So, hypothetical I can't do anymore unless I know the terrain.
But I can tell you what I saw a few times, one recently:
1. The mayor then fired him.
2. The mayor convinced him to resign.
3. He resigned out of fear of what the crazy officers had on him, and died very drunk.
4. He declared war on the officers and ran them all off.

In flyover usa, police chiefs get fired regularly.
In chiraq and Detroit, and places like that they live like kings and dictators and evil warlords, forever.
I've met better 3rd world chiefs at IACP.

A bunch of the sheriff's in flyover land are ok, but still a combo of dictator or warlord but they hide it well enough to get reelected.

Sheriff's like Israel in Broward county, Fl, are pure spawn of the devil. Jmho, of course.....

Best answer I can give...
