Well I had time to do some testing of my new Patriot/APA .308. All work done by Patriot.APA.
Bought the barreled action and BM from Thorn here on the Hide.
Jered agreed to finish it out for me.

Pierce round action
Pierce 20MOA rail
Manners T2
Rock 1-11.25 ABS carbon barrel
20" threaded 5/8-24
Surgeon BM
10x S&B
Seekins rings
Remmy trigger @ 3lbs

11.5 lbs with the 10x S&B, Shark suppressor and mag

1st loads were with Win brass, Federal 210M's, and 178 amax touching the lands. Loaded Varget, IMR4895 and RL-15. I had REALLY bad vertical stringing of about 4 to 1. Never had a carbon barrel before and have heard they can be hit and miss so I thought I might have a bad barrel. W Roscoe once told me
to buy some damn Lapua brass, give the BR2's a try if the 210M's won't shoot and push it till ya see pressure then back off.

You can see by the last 5 groups at the bottom that he was right!

This is the 1st rifle I have had that wouldn't shoot with 210M's. It's also the first that shoots better with the suppressor OFF. Right at .75, 5 shot groups. .2 mils down with the Shark on.

Thanks Jered!
The attention to detail is GREAT.

Re: patriot/APA carbon .308

It really would be hard to say in this case because I went back to basics, changing up a number of things at once, new Lapua brass, primer change, confirm seating depth etc.

I HATE to prep brass. My observation in the past when changing from unprepped Win brass to unprepped Lapua brass is that I have less flyers. YMMV

Hope this helps.

Bill when you decide to sell this one (you know that sickness we have talked about) make sure you avoid me. You and Jason keep popping up with stuff I didn't know I needed.

Seriously that shoots as good as it looks.

I am a brass prep geek and I do get less run out with Lapua vs Winchester..same bullets/dies. It also weighs more consistently.
