This is a prime example of why we need a SOP.

Is this misinformation?

Was he really just crazy and false flagged us into standing behind him when he could have been a two-bit wife beater?

Who knows.

But I do know we need communication protocols ASAP. Or they get to write our story for us on how we “Suicided” ourselves.

So he needs mental help....yet there's burglary....hes barricaded in his house.....yet there was a gunshot an officer heard that started this all....so we sent a tank?

What?
I am guessing there is a lot of misinformation spread, buy several outlets that was there to make this situation go the way of the police. Many things are NOT adding up.

I think talking to the wife will be the key.

She either cooberates his side, or she puts a fold in it and we find out something new.

How do you get charged with Criminal Trespass and Burglary at your own home???

When a tyrannical government wants you gone, any and all attempts will be used to achieve that goal. It does not matter if you have been a law abiding citizen all your life. A pen stroke from a "top official" will get you deemed a child rapist, arms trafficker, or terrorist the next minute.

That is why it is so important to keep your complete cool and not show any weakness or emotion when dealing with an unlawful arrest/detaining. Your goal in such a situation is to STAY ALIVE, AND LEAVE THE FACILITY IN THE SAME HEALTH THAT YOU HAVE ENTERED. As soon as possible. And try to get as much information on the names and faces of the people involved.

After that, the field of combat have been moved into your favor, as a certain legendary Japanese sword master and military tactician have said. You never try to fight or seek revenge when the odds are against you.

Forums like this can and should be used to even more of their potential in protecting fellow gun owners and establishing an ad-hoc comms channel in the case of an emergency.

It is a wise move to also have a backup anonymous Pay-As-You-Go account or Trac Phone with data in addition to your regular ISP. If shit does happen and your regular utility gets cut off, being able to post an update or a real time status feed means A LOT when seconds, and truth matters.

And the media report... veteran with PTSD... in mental crisis, dressed in camo, armed... posting on social media.

With Instagrammers making it worse.

No fake news here...

I have said it in the past. You can be the school principal or the pastor of the church and the media along with the po po will make sure you look like Bill Murray in Caddy Shack.

And the article adds in some other bullshit event, about a cop getting "grazed" by a bullet, to reinforce the "Danger" and why the cops need protected

Interesting that Colioin Noir (I love that guy) was following and tweeting about the incident as it was unfolding. Including re-tweeting pictures of the victim.

This may not have been Lexington or Concord... but it was sure a spark that came close to turning into a fire. Or maybe it smolders, still?

I'm so sick of the media labelling mil people with alleged PTSD. I have PTSD when it comes to the plumbing in my house and I never served on a submarine . Everybody has PTSD. Sort of ironic a police department full of people with PTSD labelling a suspect as having PTSD to justify their actions. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

How do you get charged with Criminal Trespass and Burglary at your own home???

When they charge you with domestic violence, the court can kick you out of your own house... And if you return, they can charge you with all kinds of nice stuff. Like trespassing and burglary. The court removes you from your house, under penalty of the law.

Doesn't even matter if you own the house and the poo-pah who is making the accusations is just living there. It's now hers (at last for domicile).. and might be until you figure out how to evict her!

The courts have been completely loaded with ways that let them go after you for... whatever they want. And the police don't get any leeway in domestic violence. None. No judgement calls. No 'looking at the scene to see what's going on.' If there is an accusation of physical violence (or other factors), then someone, usually the man, gets put in custody.

Piece of advice... if you EVER get into a spat with the missus or the GF... turn on the video recorder on your phone (it's part of most cameras and is easier to find than most tape recorder apps). And leave it running until the fireworks are over. Long over. If she calls the po-po and makes stuff up... you have it on audio at worst... video at best. Don't be obvious about it... don't hold the camera in her face. Just put it somewhere discreet where it can hear everything. A good audio tape can easily prove that no 'violence' happened and when being questioned by a responding officer (if one responds) can be use during questioning. You will be questioned individually.

Throughout, stay calm. Stay cool. Say nothing remotely threatening or violent... Never so much as TOUCH your partner. Not even a calming hand on shoulder. And record!

Cheers,

Sirhr

P.S. No matter how bad someone may be schitzing out... tell them "If you are so angry and miserable... just leave. Take what you need/want and leave. Just go. Nothing keeping you here"... etc. Make it clear they are free to leave. It's hard to make claims that you are being abusive and violent when you are telling someone they are free to go, especially on tape. Note that the statutes don't just cover physical violence. They include intimidation, harassment and interfering with someone's personal liberty. Even TOUCHING someone while saying "I love you honey" can get you charged... It's all on what the interpretations of the 'victim' are.... Never, ever create the slightest excuse. And record/document EVERYTHING. Modern technology is totally your friend here.

P.P.S. The most dangerous calls the police respond to are DV calls. More officers get killed or injured on DV calls than anything else. And you won't believe how many times that the 'caller' sees her mealticket get muckled up to go to jail and suddenly realizes the gravity of the situation and how much she loves him and violently turns on the police. DV calls are the worst, most stressful calls there are for police. So if LE and rescue and/or fire folks are keyed up when responding... it's because there are so many instances of the tables turning on the responders... often with fatal results.

Take note.

Anyone thats there needs to put a SOP together of getting all the officers' name/badge number and keeping track. Note what equipment they have access to, how they set the perimeter, where they put the CS, how many officers are there and how are they stationed, what comms are they using, what frequencies and how do they communicate. How many mags do they carry, do they have NV equipment on them, etc.

Right now there are reports the 911 channels are being flooded. Would be great intel to see what happens if you call 911 to report a crime taking place; do they send people? What happens? Bomb threat at city hall...does anyone go? Do they even know?

The 911 flood trick would be a fantastic way to spread them out prior to an assault.

Realize all the little stuff that you can use. We once found a guy outside of Kandahar based on the uncommon brand of cigarettes we realized he smoked. I may or may not still have one of them.

Now look at the bullshit 1984esque news 'story' thats coming out after 100+ people showed up and didn't just roll over like subjects.

We can only build from here.
Recon is always a very important first step.

Okay, so bring out the wife and explain this "domestic incident" to us, why don't you? The more y'all say it wasn't to do with the magazines and all to do with some "domestic incident" that nobody's describing, the less we're gonna believe it.

I'm willing to believe this entire scenario was a complete misunderstanding spurred by a vet's PTSD episode; my cousin's had multiple experiences with that including a Ranger friend of hers clearing the house and shouting at her and her family in Arabic because he woke up from a nightmare thinking he was still in the Middle East. Her dad has woken up in the middle of the night staring off into space because he was "looking at the desert" again from his time in Desert Storm. Nobody in our family takes PTSD lightly, we've seen its repercussions. But the more they try to spin and say it wasn't about magazines, it wasn't about guns, wasn't anything but a "domestic incident" gone wrong, the more we're gonna demand full proof that it is what they say.
