Pay it Forward was/is a great movie and I am not ashamed to say, it got me a little mysty. The message it conveys is a great one and I have been the recipient of it, now TWICE.
The first time was when I walked into an IHOP as a family was leaving. The oldest man of the family thanked me for my service (I was wearing my "Veteran on medication for YOUR SAFETY' cap and shook my hand. He pressed a $20 bill into my hand and said, "Enjoy your breakfast'.
I was taken aback that it was all I could do but yell to him as he went out the door, "Thank you!"
It was the main topic of conversation between my fiancée and I all thru breakfast.
As we were leaving, I just finished paying for our breakfast by credit card when a family came in and an older, grandfatherly type was with them, wearing a Vietnam Veteran cap. I immediately went over to him, thanked him for his service and shook his hand with the same $20 bill that was given to me and also said, "Enjoy your breakfast!"

Today, as I drove up to the window to pickup my blueberry donut holes and French Vanilla Latte, I started to hand the cashier my credit card to pay for my order, but she said that my order had been paid for by the woman who was driving the vehicle ahead of me. I was shocked, as I didn't even get to see or notice her in front of me.
There are a lot of great people in this world with great hearts. Now I plan on "Paying it Forward" once again.
My mother told taught me to think of others by doing simple things for them, like simply holding doors for the elderly and I also try to do that and other things for others.
I am almost getting tired by people paying it forward to me, FIRST! Tomorrow when I go out, I am going to Pay it Forward to someone else FIRST!!! :)
HOW ABOUT YOU?

when it’s genuine, i think it’s great.

i know some places like to encourage that kinda stuff...i know a starbucks in lacrosse that was common at, only. it was started through the drive through. then the people inside suggested “do you want to keep it going?”. right up until they suggested anything, fine. i saw it as liberal unicorn magic and fairy dust bullshit. promoting communism.

a person wants to do something nice for someone else, i think that is excellent.

when they try to pressure you into something, “i’m not much of a joiner”. starbucks situation....i’m paying for mine, skip me please. carry on with the next guy.

Uh, and Hiders are the BEST at it! Since you guys bailed my ass out of a bad divorce, I've had the opportunity to jump in on helping a few members since then. It's an awesome group of guys we have here, it really is. I sent a case of new Lapua brass to one deserving member to help kickstart him into reloading, I've donated what I could here and there when the need arose including $100 to someone who was in dire need. I don't have that to just throw around, but if someone could do without their (pick something) for the month in order to help me, then I could do the same.

Starbucks tried this pay in line thing several years back, but it wound up just being some corporate feel good shit so they could get free advertisement. It's not doing anything if EVERYONE is simply paying for the other's bill.

It needs to be organic and genuine. Like what you experienced. Like what I experienced. If a corporation is lauding it, then they've got an angle. Always.

After what's happened to me, I decided to do the ultimate "pay it forward" down the line and since I no longer have any heirs worth leaving arms to, I decided to name an unnamed 'Hide member as the sole heir to my entire trust (which includes a fuck load more than NFA stuff). He knows who he is but beyond that it's a secret. I couldn't think of another I'd trust more. He'll divy the load up amongst members and others at his discretion. Or may auction or raffle them to do even more good, that's gonna be up to him.

So if someone starts posting pictures of a lot of cool free shit that kinda looks familiar, you know I've probably kicked it! And in that case, I'm paying it all forward since I can't take it with me. Don't want it sold, don't want it used in a crime, want it going to someone who can appreciate, use and respect it, so you guys are my best bet, and you guys have all been there for me in more ways than one.

Its simple really:

"Every action has an equal and opposite reaction."
"You reap as you sow."
"What goes around comes around."

As well as sharing 10% of my income I try to do those little things. Im leaving mine to the Salvation Army and The Innocence Project.

I guess my question is who goes to Starbucks in the first place, and pays a fortune for shitty coffee while putting money in liberals pockets? Speedway coffee is twice as good and a quarter of the cost.

Ya dont go th the 'Bucks' for the coffee, you go to look at all the hot SOCA moms coming in in their camel toe yoga pants.

Maybe it's because they don't broadcast their good deeds like poor people do? You must only know wealthy Democrats.
I’d say they broadcast it more so with their “charitable” donations for tax write offs. Unfortunately the state I reside in has fallen prey to the blue invasion

I do nice things just to see people's faces. Then I tell them they have to do something nice for someone else. I figure if only 10% of my 'victims' really do, it's still better than it was.

I love pay-it-forward, however it irritates the hell out of me when people have to tell their "good deed" all over social media right afterwards. Kind of shows where their true intentions lay. Not saying anyone commenting applies to that considering this is an actual discussion of pay-it-forward acts.
