Movie Theater Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

completely agree, it seems that all us vets get portrayed that way. We come back from the sandbox, and all of a sudden we are all violent and crazy. F**K Penn State, liberal ass bastards. But typical today about vets and the wars going on right now.

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

I honestly thought that was a joke.... That's about the dumbest thing I have seen in a while.

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

I'm a Penn State graduate, and I never thought I'd say this...but I'm ashamed of my alma mater today.

Think I'll log off and write the President of the school a letter now...

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

At first, I thought it was about another vereran's murder
READ it here

but then I found It is Common, so I kept looking and found that murder is common at Penn State especially in perhaps, Sports, but you cannot file against a business that has an incredible old man defending a million dollar business run by liberal thinking executives. And then you read HERE and wonder WTF.

I left the Betio Battalion to attend college. When they tried to teach the hurrah stuff at my new school I laughed. They had not heard of Betio.

God Bless America. Despite not knowing....

Mirror mirror?

I don't know if the video's all that offensive, but I can see how they used the fact that he's a vet to insinuate that he could be more dangerous than a florist perhaps.

Yeah, I suppose it is somewhat narrow-minded.

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

An observation here, on a grander scale, would be the liberal media, more over,...who the liberal media truly is. And, how a video like this, that is surely shown across campus subtly encourages, and implants the fear of the true patriots and sacrificial lambs as it were, of the very "shepherds" of the impending doom of our great nation.

Deep huh? Think it through. And get used to the way this was written. Because the authors of socialistic, "democracy" will speak in twisted, perverse variances of the English legalese dialect. And only the truly vigilant will be able to read past it. Shame there aren't enough of us to do anything about it.

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

I hate to admit this, I've tried to hire some veterens, 1 army and really sorry to say 2 Marines, all said they had sandbox experience and all were incompetent morons. I remember sitting in my office thinking how this so called new generation ever made it through a war and not been killed by the enemy or by fellow soldiers or Marines. They would have never lasted with us.
The saying use to be, "there were always 10% bad in ever bunch", but today, unless I'm proven wrong, there are 90% bad people and 10% good. How is the United States so great if you judge it by it's people?

1ST, YOU MISSPELLED VETERANS!

Though you have have hired "a bag of rocks" as my DI used to call us,....I'm offended that you call our young veterans "Bad People" Who the hell do you think you are? They did their time and might be less educated or socially challenged, but they're still suffering inside much like most Vets from Vietnam. The difference here being that Groups like mine (Hope4heroes) who are fellow Vets, help to take care of them. So to call our young men and women "Bad people" is to give up on them like your generation was. And as a brother Marine, it's your DUTY to help guide them through the troubled and turbulent times they face when coming into civilian life. Remember how lost you felt after you first separated? These guys are young and barely know who they are inside, then you add an extreme lifestyle change, and people like you who seem to give up on, and label them "bad people"....I'd have a negative attitude working for you too." So I'm dropping a coin here Brother Devil Dog,....HELP THOSE MEN SUCCEED. GO Above and beyond. Simply hiring them isn't helping them. Be a mentor and positive example. Seems all you've done here is quit on them when they most needed a brother.

One step forward and two steps back......I'm steaming!

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

What the fuck man? I honestly dont know what to say. What kind of asshole would write off 90% of a generation of vets? That is the type of stupid statement I would expect from some idiot liberal. I never thought I would hear that from someone on here.

Devil Dog eh? Yeah...fukin' right...

Have you forgotten this???

Honor: Honor requires each Marine to exemplify the ultimate standard in ethical and moral conduct. Honor is many things; honor requires many things. A U.S. Marine must never lie, never cheat, never steal, but that is not enough. Much more is required. Each Marine must cling to an uncompromising code of personal integrity, accountable for his actions and holding others accountable for theirs. And, above all, honor mandates that a Marine never sully the reputation of his Corps.

Courage: Simply stated, courage is honor in action -- and more. Courage is moral strength, the will to heed the inner voice of conscience, the will to do what is right regardless of the conduct of others. It is mental discipline, an adherence to a higher standard. Courage means willingness to take a stand for what is right in spite of adverse consequences. This courage, throughout the history of the Corps, has sustained Marines during the chaos, perils, and hardships of combat. And each day, it enables each Marine to look in the mirror -- and smile.

Commitment: Total dedication to Corps and Country. Gung-ho Marine teamwork. All for one, one for all. By whatever name or cliche, commitment is a combination of (1) selfless determination and (2) a relentless dedication to excellence. Marines never give up, never give in, never willingly accept second best. Excellence is always the goal. And, when their active duty days are over, Marines remain reserve Marines, retired Marines, or Marine veterans. There is no such thing as an ex-Marine or former-Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Commitment never dies.

FUCK YOU..... Transmission ends

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

Per request from Dave Bradshaw of the Texas Disabled Veterans:

Steve, I agree with you, Who the hell does this guy think he is?

Let dj70 know that there are several companies in our area that hire nothing but veterans, for some very simple reasons. They are loyal to a fault, you treat them right and they treat you right. They show up on time and ready to work. You give them clear instructions one time, and they do exactly what you ask. They can take initiative and problem solve under pressure. If they see a problem, they fix it, not leave it for someone else. They don’t bitch about the heat, or cold, or how hard the work is. They don’t take shortcuts. They take pride in their work and do it right the first time. When they have to work in potentially dangerous areas, (such as heavy steel construction), they have each other’s back, they make sure they and their coworkers are safe. They go out of their way to help others, even strangers, because it is the right thing to do. They truly appreciate it when someone helps them. They have learned that life is precious and short, and they don’t take anything for granted.

By the way, these companies are mostly hiring veterans who were severely injured in Iraq and Afghanistan, and spent months or, in some cases 2-3 years, in treatment and physical rehabilitation to be able to return to work, even if they could not return to active duty. Most of these men and women don’t have to work, they want to. They could just sit back and draw pensions and social security.

Maybe the problem here is the fact that they don’t tolerate stupidity, incompetence, cruelty, or disrespect, especially from those in leadership positions.

Some facts to ponder as you sit in your office:

There are 10.7 million veterans in the United States work force today. Of those, over 3 million have at least a bachelor's degree. (The last I heard, colleges don’t give those to “Incompetent Morons”)

14.5% of businesses are owned by veterans.

These “bad people” volunteered to protect and serve our country, including your silly ass. What kind of person has the arrogance to deride and demean them in any way?

How the hell can you judge all of us by the actions of 3 people?

Standby for quasi-rant….

As a somewhat recently separated veteran, this post is at the least aggravating…

During my ‘training’ for military separation, the ‘instructor’ seemed to care less about the information that he was supposed to be providing and far more about when he was allotted a lunch break. It really goes to show the true level of dedication that personnel give to civi-bound men and women. Not sure if that is ‘the norm,’ but from what I’ve gathered from friends, it is.

I have all of the reference material in my basement somewhere, most of which just tells you how to get started on resumes and how to dress appropriately for interviews and how to contact personnel on base that ‘will help you with your transition’. I am not saying that they do a poor job, but their workload is overwhelming, and not everyone can have someone hold their hand as they take the necessary steps.

I jumped through 5 jobs in the period of 2 years before finding on I actually liked and felt that I excelled at, its not necessarily a matter of being ‘incompetent morons,’ as it is a matter of finding a your niche. With so many of today’s Marines/soldiers/sailors/airmen/guardsmen joining for reasons such as the G.I. bill and other VA benefits and simply doing their 4 years, most probably just found their stride in whatever field they were in, making it somewhat difficult to adapt to a new set of required skills and responsibilities within the civilian sector. Those that joined primarily for G.I. bill may have not been capable of handling the subjects throughout their pre-military education, or may not have taken it as seriously as they should (I fall into that category) and saw the military as their opportunity to get a grip on their lives again. They may not meet your expectations in certain areas, but every person has their strengths and weaknesses. Just remember that for the past couple years while you were sitting in your office they may have been dealing with some situations that you haven’t had to deal with in a long time. Try and think back to how you dealt with those experiences.

All that being said, I have been grateful for opportunities provided to me since my separation. I just hope that the people I’ve worked for and/or with have judged me for my work ethic and adaptability and not against other service members that they have or will consider giving the same opportunity.

And as for PENN state…as well as other Liberal-hippy-commie’s…someday they’ll come to understand that their generalized, accusing, unthinking statements and actions against veterans as well as active duty men and women and have to sleep knowing that their ability to try and smudge the reputations and characters of honorable Americans at every opportunity throughout their petty lives holds nothing against the dedication that so many of the people they belittled have given to their country.

That’s my .02…

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

Sorry about the typo sfikes. I call this shit it as I see it. It's up to the individuals to show me how reliable & responsible they are. Respect is earned. I know damn well what some of these vets have been through and It's nothing worse than what I went through. 40 years latter I still have an occasional dream. Just because you've gone through some bad times in your live doesn't justify for anyone being an asshole. As for the 90% comment, I was talking about 90% of the people not 90% of the vets. You are right when saying that Marines and all vets should have high moral standards, and it was unfortunate that I ran into a few that didn't. I don't have a big business but my employee's and been with me for 15 ot 23 years. Am I ever going to not hire a person that was a vet? Of course not. But you can ask any of my employee's how many people we go through to get one half decent person and it's somewhere between 15 to 25.

If you guys want to jump on me for me telling the truth about the vets and other idiots that I've tried to hire......so be it.

You guys jump over some stupid video from Penn State and it's probably used as a teach example and just so happnes they used a vet in it. Guys don't over react.

Wil, you reek with class.

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

I would expect more from a Marine, than to push blame off onto younger subordinate troops. As for your reply to me in PM, " The truth shall set you free"...don't know what that has to do with anything here. If you can't handle your moral responsibility as a brother in arms, then send all Vets that come your way to our web site. We'll help them find jobs, rather that be brow beaten buy an older Vet who seems embittered by his own bad experiences. You're the second "claimed" Marine on this site who disgraces what we were taught and stand for. You both insult the title you earned.

Pushing blame onto younger subordinate troops?....can't handle MY moral responsibility!!!??? What the hell happened to THEIR MORAL RESPONSIBILITY. You make it sound like we owe these vets a job just because they were a vet! Bullshit, they need to stand up on their feet and be accountable for their actions just like every other vet in every other war had to. I owe them a chance, that is all. If they screw it up and act unprofessional or are morally inept it's no sweat off my ass, other than I've wasted time and some money. The problems with younger generation is many of them were spoiled, mommy and daddy gave them to much and they never had to work or show responsibility for nothing, and it shows! One Marine I tried to hire bragged to my guys that he skated through the Marines! Now none of this pertains to wounded or disabled vets. In my line of work I'm sorry I can't use them. You talk about my embittered experiences, you can't even imagine what I went through, but I'm not embittered at all, as a matter of fact it made me a better & stonger person. If anyone is looking for sympathy, it's between shit and syphilis in the dictionary, if you don't believe me ask a Marine Corp Drill Instructor. I'm not talking about all the good vets both servicemen and women, only the dead beats. So if the shoe fits.......wear it.

Be true the thyne self.......

As yo said bro... I call shit as I see it. With your typos fixed I can see both sides. Hard to tell tone & voice inflection in text, but I understand both sides of the equation.

That being said, I would still go above & beyond to help a fellow Marine out. I can also understand about running a company & requiring reliable workers. However, I would still like to think I could peer through the outer shell & see the real person inside, waiting to come out with the right encouragement.

Just remember there will always be shit bags, but let's try to take the high road & try to turn em around...

attitude reflects leadership

that was not a dig at you ...just a statement of fact

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

I can't completely disagree with most of that. But as far as I can't imagine what you may have gone thru.....I beg to differ with EXTREME passion. I work with troops, who are missing some or all limbs including sight, hearing, burns and PTSD, as well as TBI. Most of the "shit birds" suffer from some form of PTSD, there for I lean on the side of empathy first, and judgment last. I too own a small business, so again....I know, see and understand. My passion for helping these men runs deeper that you could ever fathom,.........CUR!

This is the smartest thing you've said.

"Just remember there will always be shit bags, but let's try to take the high road & try to turn em around..."

If they aren't man or woman enough to understand that they need help and fix what's broken.....fuck them, cause I don't have time. But if they come to me for help I'll bend over backwards for them, which is a hell of a lot more than I or many other Viet Vets received when we came home. We got spit on when we came home in 1970, something I'll never forget!

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

Sometimes my thoughts are like free range cattle. Other times, I have logged in at the nurses station here at the rehab center.

I was spit upon by a crazed Haitian once in a camp on Gitmo. One of my Sergeants witnessed it and was quick to make nice with a body slam. The 31's are fearless. We then romped and stomped 4 more steps forward...

I always wanted to be a shitbird, but I lacked the courage.

Mr. DJ:

I try to be the voice of moderation...the man who encourages compromise and comity among men...and given the circumstances here, and the grand effort that many have made to accommodate your views, I can say -as a civilian- that as one who is sitting on the riverbank, watching this exchange, you seem to know the price of everything and the value of nothing...

Re: Penn state's offensive Veteran video...MFers!!!

Penn State is garbage, I am embarrassed that this school is in PA, my home state. They seem to manage to do something to piss everyone off constantly. I got to Virginia Tech, anyone remember when some Penn State students dressed up as VT shooting victims for halloween? The kids who did it laughed it off and couldn't understand why us Hokies were so pissed. School did nothing either. I hate that school and have no respect for its faculty or student body.

If anyone has kids looking to go there, don't let them, they will turn into liberal socialist zombies.
