Rifle Scopes PIC REQUEST - Low Rings, 20 MOA Base, Varmint Barrel, 50mm objective

hi guys,

I am adding a Vortex viper PST FFP 6-24x50 to my R700 with 20inch AAC-SD barrel.

I want the scope to ride VERY low.

I plan to use a Warne 20MOA base and Warne Low (.250) rings.

By my calculations this should clear.... but, might I be able to go lower?

I was just wanting to see pics of similar clearance. Thanks!

Remington 700 w/ factory varmint profile, either a Seekins (pretty sure it's a Seekins) or Badger 20 MOA Base, and Badger 30mm Std height rings (0.823" height to center of ring). Scope is a 30mm maintube w/ 50mm obj.

In fact, the rifle pictured is an AAC-SD in a different stock.

Here is a Viper PST (30/50mm) with 20 MOA EGW base and Seekins low rings (.82"). My rifle is a 700 VTR but the barrel profile is similar, just with the triangular cuts.

R700 5R .308 (Sendero barrel profile) Ziess Conquest with 50mm Obj. EGW 20 MOA 1-piece base, and burris XTR low (1/4") rings




No clue about the 2-piece bases

The warne bases are pretty thin. I would try to stick around the .82/.86 to centerline.

Maybe this will help ya out some. This is my rifle I built. It's a Remmy 700 in 308 with a Krieger 1.250" "no taper" barrel. The scope base is a Leupold 20 MOA, Leupold Mark IV Medium Rings, and a Leupold Mark IV 8.5-25x50mm. Either I got lucky, or I had one of those great days where all my math came out perfect, but it fits and it sits as low as it can get without touching. Although, when I measure the boreline and centerline of the scope, it measures out around 1.850".

Update, got some 30mm warne low rings and attached them to my warne mounts...... here's the clearance....
