Picked up a new pistol.First 1911, Taurus PT1911AR

Well i traded my Xd9 for a taurus 1911. I know its a taurus, but my buddy has one and he says its alright. Anyone have any experience with these?

For the money you pay the pt1911 is a nice gun, mine shot well and fed all the ammo I shot in it. The only down side is not all of its parts are interchangeable with other 1911 pistols. Enjoy your gun.

I shot one for 2 years in uspsa single stack. I put about 7500 rounds of 45 through it, and thousands of 22 through a ceinier conversion on top of it. Never had a single problem. Only thing I changed was the sights, to a set of Dawson precision fiber optic set. Enjoy..

I had one, blue 45. Sold it to a friend after about 10,000 rounds. Still going strong. Bought a stainless 38 Super a few months ago. Haven't had much time to shoot it yet but what I have shot with the gun it seems good to go.

Ive noticed the slide wont stay back on the last round with the factory magazine, but with the novak mag it does. Whats a good aftermarket mag thats pretty cheap?

I used chip McCormick mags. They worked great.

XD are great pistols for 225 bucks, because thats what they cost when HS2000 was on the slides, you did well on your trade IMHO.

+1 on the Chip Mcormick mags, I have several and have not had a problem with a single on of them.

i'll have to check those out. anyone shorten the left side of the safety to accommadate crimson trace grips?

Try switching over to a wilson combat subdued safety.

I traded one of my old police trade in Glock's for one last week. I got one with a rail and can't find a good holster for it since it doesn't work with my holsters that fit my Springfield with a rail.
