This was NW of Edmonton Alberta. Down below the tree line is just shy of 400 yards, along the right side of the picture there is the brush just before the tree line that’s 275.
First time blind hunting. Glad my father decided to bring his Monopod along for taking pictures, as I ended up sticking it out of the window for a rest, allowing me to hammer a whitetail buck at a good distance.

Had to use a creep feeder as a blind this year and I’m thinking it worked pretty well!

The whole family got their turn in the field this year. I was able to get my archery deer , my wife and girls got their rifle tags filled. The wife and kids put in lots of work and practice, it sure paid off for the kids. I made the girls shoot 20 rounds a night through the vudoo some sitting and some laying. I had them dry fire a 22 Comp match I built for them but never let them shoot it till the hunt. That plan worked out amazing as they had 0 reason to develop a flinch and made outstanding dead in tracks shoulder shots. 2021 I will have to do a better job at taking pics of the terrain.

I took a little cousin out for a few hours of calling. I usually don’t waste my time on full moons nights but I am glad he begged to go. We had 7 down by 11pm and decided to call it night so we get up and fish in the morning. The super hogsters have been a game changer for me after switching away from the halo lr

Rebecca's first time hunting deer.
Watching, waiting.

20201102_161248.jpg

A doe and fawn show up.
5 minutes later they pop their heads up and look to our right, behind the blind.

Two bucks show up.
This one drops his head to feed at 18 yds.

She shot him immediately and he ran. Heard him crash.
60 yard run with that hole in him. The tracking job was pretty easy...
Comple pass through and this is the entry side.

Late winter early spring views on hog killing spot.

From an spot I set up last year.
Found a dead tree. Wind block and hides movement.
Watched some awesome stuff from here, including a mature bald eagle hunting alone (flew over me about 30’ above me), immature bald flying by, golden eagle flying over, about 70’ right over the top.
Watched deer feeding at 1200 yds.
no stalk. Knew some would come closer and they did.

I was able to speed a few days with one of my sons sheep hunting then a few moose hunting. Snow ran us off the mountain during sheep hunt, temp dropped to +15 and 20-30 m/h wind. So we regeared and spend a few days moose hunting.

Started this stand behind the house last November but trashed my right rotator cuff and long head bicep tendon in the process and never finished it up with a top and blind.
It was meant to be a dual purpose deer stand/elevated shooting bench,
500 yds to the hedgerow in the bottom, about 850-875 to the treeline on the ridge behind it.
Anyway, I've been home for the past 2 weeks trying to get over a case of the wu flu and bronchitis.
Felt good enough to venture out this morning and see what was stirring around.
An old doe and her yearling crossed about 250yds then, in spite of my near constant coughing, a dumb yote pup pops out less the 50 yds.
All in all, I had a good morning, first time in a week.

Youth weekend again in IN.
My youngest had a tiring cpl days leading up to our first sit Sunday morn. Went to his bros football game fri night, had to be at basketball at 7:00 sat morn then he had baseball practice from 16:00-19:00 sat eve. Right after baseball we drove out to where we were camping ate some dinner and hit the sack. Up at 5:00 Sunday and into the stand. He made it about 30 min after sunrise and just couldn't do it anymore. After he woke up, looks at me and asks, "what'd I miss". Made me laugh.

It is a lot of fun. My dad and I take my two boys (16&12) and two of my nephews (12&9) camping for youth weekend and opening weekend of firearms season. They have a blast and I enjoy being there spending time with them and my dad. Some great memories being made.
