Please forgive the naivety in advance. I like to work on my own shit. I reload and have tinkered with some AR builds.....with decent success. Reason for the post is that I re-barreled my RPR last season (6 Creedmoor) and I want to check the headspacing before I start this season's shooting. There was a fella on youtube that put up a real nice video on the process. He had his own action wrench but didn't post anything regarding which one he used. I know Anarchy Outdoors makes an action rod specifically for the RPR, which is great.

I would like to be able to use something a little more "universal" in case I decide I want to use it on more than just one rifle. I've done a little poking around and it seems like there are various options available out there, but I think some are designed for specific actions? Is there a generic action wrench that would work on the RPR as well as other platforms? Hoping for a little direction / advice.

I like the inside the action wrenches. This means my collection will grow with my action collection.

The outside style with different inserts works fine. I just don't like them as they interfere with my recoil lug jigs on my nut setups.

I thought an RPR only needed ar15 armors tools?

Also, the only tool you need to "check" headspace is a go gauge and you dont have to take it apart to do so.

And you want to check it now a year after the fact?
When I re-barreled it a while back I clamped the barrel in a vise and used the armorer's wrench to torque the nut. I didn't like the fact the receiver could move freely. I used Pacific Go / No go gauges. I started having case separation and wasn't sure if it was head spacing related or simply the cases wearing out. Since I tore it down for a color change I figured now was the time to look for an action wrench.
