I have achieved Jedi status with the Beretta M9A3 and have been very curious about this 'perfectly weighted' Glock 19x.

I don't need another firearm, pistol, anything. I particularly DO NOT like Glocks and think they are the most over-hyped things ever, with most of the fan base having jack shit zero experience and/or reference on handguns outside of the Glock because 'its cool'. Any previous generation of Glock I've ever shot has had a shit trigger and the grip angle felt like I was holding a stick straight out in front of me with a midget hanging off of it.

Yet I want to try this new Glock out. Please talk me out of this stupidity before I buy one. I don't want to turn into a Glock peasant. Please.

I dunno what people bitch about.....aside from HK.....i think glock are the only people designing handguns that fit a normal human hand

And the trigger in my gen 4 is better than any other factory striker fired gun out there

Yeah but HK is the pistol master race, Glock is Austrian peasantry that was annexed and then willingly tossed back.

Just by a regular 19 with a plus 2 or 3 max extension. But hey, you do you. Now talk me out af an MRAD.

Big difference. MRAD is superior, while I am trying to figure out what is drawing me to this Glock peasantry.

Wouldn't the regular 19 have the smaller (or bigger? frame) with the bigger (or smaller slide) though?

I had a bunch of Glock early on.. still have the 10mm gen1? Other than that I agree with you.. I like my custom 1911- and triggers, so no Glock love.

All that said— I am sorry to say, I shot the 19x and loved how soft it seems to shoot..I hate it but want one too.

See this is what has me super curious. If its as well balanced and soft shooting as basically every report of one has said it is, it would be like cheat mode for me.

Buy a gen5 17. It will be cheaper experiment to see if you are going to warm up to platform and easier to move if the 19x flops for whatever reason.

The 19x is basically a 19 with a bigger grip that runs G17 mags. At least that’s what I understand. I’m a Glock fanboy because of their simplicity and they just work. But I won’t be buying one........for now. I’m not even interested in the Gen 5’s. Perfectly happy with all my gen 4’s

If it shoots nice, I like it.... I don’t own a Glock, but a nice 19 with a professional stipple job and micro red dot seems like tons of fun.

Actually, my favorite 9mm is the PT-99 from Taurus (stop rolling your eyes) it is the beretta 92 clone but with a frame mounted safety (no decock) like a 1911. Much easier to use than the high mounted slide safety of the 92. I also have a HK-P30 because HK.... and I have an XDS 3.3 9 for conceal carry. I used to be heavy into revolvers, but sold them off for some reason, now I’m looking to start with a .44 mag wheel gun again.....

If it’s fast, has boobs, or goes bang I’m interested......

This fact it can get a RDS put on it is also secretly why I've been considering one. I have a few MRDS laying around from MK12 builds and always thought I should get a handgun that can get machined for one. My Beretta and 1911s won't work, no way am I messing with my H&K so the Glock may be perfect.

My favorite is still the M9A3.

Why would you want to but a pistol, whose original purpose was concealability, that now has a longer grip, that also wont work with gen5 g17 mags?Or why get a pistol who used to be a full sized, that now has a shorter sight radius? Unless youre putting a comp or suppressor on this. then just why?

Now if glock started making flat backstrapped grips with extra back straps that have the hump, call me otherwise they are just spinning their wheels.

I've own or have owned just about everything (modern pistols) from many Sigs, M&P's, H&K's, Glocks, lots of 1911's, Springfields, etc. And I keep coming back to the Glocks for one simple reason. They work perfectly for me in every way, every time. I can't say that about any other gun.

That being said, anytime I want something new, be it a car, motorcycle, or gun, I wait and think about it for two weeks. If I still want it after those two weeks, I buy it. But, many times, I realize it was just a passing feeling and don't buy.

I have been interested in one. It's basically a 17 frame and 19 slide. I have big ass hands. It just seems like this could be a good fit with a shorter quicker handling barrel. I have a Gen 4 26, and 34.

I have three G-19-4s, two are stock other than night sights and weapon light. The other has fiber optic sights, a trigger upgrade, KKM barrel, magwell, stippling, etc. and use it for 3Gun. In spite of my XL hands I like the G19 (no backstraps) because it points and transitions fast... it won’t be as accurate as a longer 17 or 34 but it’s more than good enough. I have other range toys too but like they say, Glocks just work. Maybe you’ll have to swap an Apex extractor if you get a bad one. The stock trigger does suck but I think they improve my shooting skill with better triggers haha rationalizing but true.

I can do better than a 19x by using magazines with a Taran Tactical +5 extension. Gives me a better grip and more rounds for less money.

If you use a gun for defense I rather have them impound a $500 pistol than a more expensive one.

Buy a regular Glock police trade-in.... For half the price.

Glocks are great shooting pistols. Tactical tupperware. Nowhere near as nice as a Walther, HK or 1911... to collect and enjoy.

But if you want a Glock... get one. You won't regret it. Not collectible. But they always go bang and they are a hell of an accurate pistol.

    Cheers,

    Sirhr

Dude, Sirhr just nailed it for you. Just pick up a god damn dept issued glock. Dept's ain't got the money to shoot like we use to. LOW round counts and not trashed. Accurate and go bang. Cheap as hell compared to plan B and just makes sense. DO IT ! U and it don't get along for some reason, sell it.
    Drama Boy. ;)

Fuck Glocks! They're plastic kiddie toys! Real men who like autos own M1911s, M9s, or Desert Eagles! :D I also find it funny and ironic that the most annoying and pretentious dipshits I know personally in the shooting community are all either AR or Glock or both owners.

For me, 1911s have always fit my hands. Sigs have always felt extremely good too.

Glocks have been okay in my hand but they always seem to go bang. I've not shot a 19x or Gen 5 But I've heard a lot of good things from a neighboring department that got new Gen 5s last month.

Oh shit. Wait. You wanted us to talk you OUT of it... okay... it's a 9mm... (that sight to liven up the discussion)

Everyone should own at least one G17. They are certainly utilitarian, but, they run unfailingly IF you don’t dick with them much. How many HK’s have won National Championships in USPSA or IDPA? Food for thought. Buy it, if you don’t like it, find a new home for it.

I just looked to see what a 19x was, seems really stupid to me. I'd rather go the other way, 17 size slide with 19 size grip
    1. It was made for mil contract barrel requirement, already s designed and proven so why not offer it to Joe Blow, or Joerg Blau The German in this case
    2. Full grip helps with large hands that risk palm meat caught between mag and grip on reload. Got the scar to prove it.
    3. More experienced guys than me say shorter slide cycles faster.

I am a 1911 fan always have been but I shot the gen5 19 and I bought one, my wife carries a gen4 and I hate the trigger and the finger grooves. After I bought the gen5 I was going to put a trigger in it, after 500 or so rounds it still has the factory trigger. Don’t shoot a gen5 unless you want to buy one

Long time Glock shooter here and the Glock 19X is fantastic. Highly recommended. Any questions about it? Ask me.

It is really pathetic to listen to people grip and moan about anything new from Glock, as if having more choices in firearms is a bad thing. If you don't want one, don't buy one, but the need to get on the Internet and tell everyone why you don't want one, won't get one, or why nobody else should, to me, is an indication of a potential fatal brain tumor.

    :)

I am a Glock fan, so no moaning here, but I would much rather see them go the other direction on the grip length. A frame size between the G26 and the G19 and a 12-13 round mag would be the perfect EDC and it should keep the G19's slide, as its easier to conceal the slide than the grip.

I am a glock fan here as well. But only the gen 4s as i have not checked out the 5s. I never feel comfortable with any of the older gens. I just cant get over the big hump in the grip. Beyond that what is not to like. Plain, simple and bang every time you pull the trigger.

If you monitor the chatter on the Interwebz the Glock haters find everything not to like, but then again, they are idiots, morons and genetically challenged persons who would complain if they were hung with a new rope. :) LOL

Once I got my hands on a CZ 75, sold all my other semi autos including a Glock 17. BTW, SIGs fall in the same category of ass as Glocks as far as I'm concerned.

CZ 75 is one of the best out there. I have the PCR. For me the grip ergonomics are perfect, and its reliability has been flawless.

I have a Glock 23 Gen II that I bough long time ago, put 50 rounds through it, never cared for it. Sat for 20 years.
Got it out recently put 150 rounds through it. Do not understand what the big deal is.

There is "no big deal" about a Glock. That's the point. They just work. They are extremely easy and simple to maintain, right down to the last single part. And the after market support for them is astoundingly plentiful. Rich and vibrant. If you don't like a Glock, don't use a Glock. I never understand what the "big deal" is about taking such pleasure in running Glocks down. I think it is just kind of stupid. But then again, so is most of the Internet. :)
