situation dictates...what would be the purpose? How will it be used? What features are must haves(bungee straps, velcro, etc)? How much do you want to spend?

The more info you give the better the response will be.

I hope this helps

Re: Pmag holder for vest

Yes, I'm part of LEO organization. Bungee cords would be a nice to,have so mags don't drop In case I'm rappelling or fast roping. Price is a non issue. Just want something that works and is functional. Suggestions are welcome.

Re: Pmag holder for vest

Why not go with an all kydex mag holder, it will hold a mag tight until you are wanting to remove it, no straps to remember to take off or anything like that, just grip the mag and pull it out. Can be had for pmags in 223 and 308 with molle straps to lace thru any molle webbing.

Re: Pmag holder for vest

ITW Fast Mags.

They have 5.56 and 7.62 versions. The 5.56 lock Pmags in snug. They are NOT going to fall out, but they still come out fast when you grab and rip. The 7.62 versions will fit M14 and 7.62 Pmags but don't grab AICS magazines well.

They really are the best I have ever used.

They even fit great on my Condor Plate Carrier.

Re: Pmag holder for vest

Well, lets just say that it wansnt the first choice but the crappy state budget considerations make everything a trade off unless you want to start buying everything yourself. Maybe half of my gear is stuff i own. So, the vest works well with hard body armor I just need to get some decent .223 and .308 mag holders that will hold up. My main concern is that they could fall out when fully loaded....we always seem to be running as you would expect. Dont want loose mags and crap falling all over the place or making noise saying "hey, Im over here...shoot this way you meth head. HA...sorry, could not resist.

If my tax return is decent I plan on swapping armor carries. Any brand you guys like best without breaking the bank and spending 1K? i just dont have that kind of excess cash lying around after all the gear I have had to buy for myself.

Re: Pmag holder for vest

I run a TAG (Tactical Applications Group, not the other one) vest. I'm not saying it is the best, but when you live in Jacksonville, it's kind of who you buy from. I love it.

And in full disclosure, I should mention that I'm using 2 Condor shingles for mags right now

. I tried running some other styles (to include FirstSpear) & I'm ashamed to admit it but I like the Chinese ones better.

How's that for the pot calling the kettle black... At least I'm honest about it.

Re: Pmag holder for vest

I use TAG (Tactical Assault Gear) carrier and TAG mag pouches. I have great luck with both products and I have 5.56 and 308 P-Mags on my carrier. They have bungee cord to hold them in and have never made a noise or fallen out during a variety of situations.

Good products at a fair price.

I would also highly recomend MayFlower if money is no option, just have to play the waiting game with them to get your stuff

I would also ad the ITW Fast Mags are the best. I like the options they give. I am not LE but use them for matches.

Re: Pmag holder for vest

Re: Pmag holder for vest

Buddy, I think you must have switched to posting from your iphone, or you are WAY drunk because I can't make out your last post. I deciphered that you need a link, so I'll give you one to everything I've got (not sure if your request was directed at me or not).

Vest: http://www.optactical.com/taapgrsp2iba.html

Mag Shingles: http://www.opsgear.com/index/page/p...5/product_name/MOLLE+Open+M4+Triple+Mag+Pouch
(I like how these have 6 molle straps on the back... Some others have less)

If I were in law enforcement, I'd consider just running an extra mag in a kydex pouch on my belt like Steve linked above... The chances of you being in a prolonged engagement without the ability of resupply (from your car) probably isn't that high, but the cool thing about America is that you can do what you want (as long as they say it's ok).

Re: Pmag holder for vest

Ha, thats pretty good....I was posting from my iphone and the damn thing changes words and phrases automatically so it looks like I am speaking gibberish or something. extra classy.

Thanks for the link!

Re: Pmag holder for vest

I prefer fabric over kydex on the vests, kydex is goodthe but is loud when it rubs or touches anything brush your gun etc. Fabric seems to flex more to the vest even with a mag in place. The brand is gonna depend on the type ofif closer you want ( tons of good companies now days) Velcro is loud I run bungies. I can secure them if im going upside down or tuck the bungies away and run open top if im just doing normal stuff. Again user preferences apply. In my opinion user preferences is key I know alot of boys that run both styles and do so very well.

Re: Pmag holder for vest

Well, just to clear things up....I need at least a 3 mag chest rig holder that will secure at least 3 30 rd pmag or 3 20 rd .308 pmags. I just swap the carrier depending on my assigned role. Obviously.....I'm not a patrol cop.....I need to he prepared for the very rare but extended gunfight. Running out of ammo is my worst nightmare.

Re: Pmag holder for vest

Yes, seriously...note the sarcasm. Dont know if your are LEO or military but I dont think you would serve a high risk warrant with a single magazine in your rig and a smile on your face expecting everything to go just as planned and everybody to just give up.

It may be rare, but sometime the methheads and crackheads decided to shoot at us.
