Gunsmithing Polish a predator?

its easy as hell to do. just get everything slapped together then hang it from a coat hanger and spray the krylon nice an even otherwise benchrest central prolly has polished action procedures.;)

You'll need sandpaper all the way up to 2000 grit. Than a bench grinder with a couple polishing wheels. They're made of cotton there is a stiff wheel for the initial cutting and a soft wheel for polishing. And a couple sticks of jewlers rouge. It's a wax stick with polishing grit in it. It comes in different colors also. You'll most likely need brown and white for stainless.

While I've never polished an action I've got a lot of stainless on my truck that I polish with a hand grinder a couple times a year using the same process.

Your better off taking it to a metal polisher, you'll spend a lot more on mops and compound than they'll charge to polish it. If you have access to a 4hp polisher then you can just sand it with 320grit and then hit it with a hard mop then finish it with a soft mop. Using a bench grinder (unless its a big one, 3 or 4hp) is a pain in the ass because they just don't have the torque needed to put pressure on it without stalling the grinder, thats why you'll need to sand to 2000grit or finer with a bench grinder.
