I dont think we know about or have seen the AC. I think they are pretty openly talk about him now. When Obama gave his speech where he referenced himself as a voice crying in the wilderness, that was not a coincidence. I remember it well cause it made my skin crawl.. I was a bit of a tard in my teens(and extra tarded now but thats another discussion).. surrounded by police, looking at years and years in juvie/prison, in my experience EVERYONE starts praying when you feel the reaper at the door.
Best to get ahead of it, and get on the right path early instead of waiting to accept Christ until you're already on the chopping block waiting for the guillotine to drop.

So the history of it is bifurcated: the OT came from the Jews (duh). It was proven when the Dead Sea scrolls we discovered that the version of OT we have had essentially not changed since that time. Like extremely little, and at non important points. This should give us all comfort that the original intent and wording of the OT has been maintained, even as our languages have changed.
The NT is the same way. There is very little difference between the oldest texts of each book we have and what is currently in publication, despite the various translations.
The Bible obviously was translated from the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic languages. And it had to be done by people (Tyndale, among many others), but they actually did a very good job and that fact has been proven in the last few decades as they have been compared to the oldest texts we have of the books. If someone were to try to put in or remove something it will be caught as there are teams literally searching for ancient versions of the 66 books, and once they are found they are compared to everything younger than it. And frankly, there are so many people who want to discredit scripture that if something was found inconsistent we would never hear the end of it.
All of this above is about the Bible proper. I’m not talking about the Book of Mormon or the books from the Jehovah Witnesses. I have no comment on those.

I have shot quite a few things with a Model 57 S&W 41. Nothing really past 100 yards. Like you say. They run a few yards and die. Can't imagine smoking someone in your living room with it. Would work really well as long as it didn't go though a wall.
