Why will the average American stay with a "program" (401k, Cable TV, etc) when big Government or big Business changes the rules and takes away or gives less than the program was set up to be? One more example.
Amazon Prime Video unveiled plans to introduce advertisements during shows and movies starting early next year — becoming the latest streaming service to embrace ads to keep its business growing.
Known for popular original programming like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Summer I Turned Pretty, Amazon Prime Video will offer two tiers of subscriptions in 2024. With ads, the price of Prime membership, which is currently $14.99 per month in the U.S., will not change.

When cable TV first came out, there were no ads. The deal was Americans were paying for a service because there were no ads. The rules changed.
Like inflation... charging more and giving less.

I don't know much about Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C. It would seem to me he overstepped his authority to tell the UAW members
He said, ‘You strike, you’re fired.’ Simple concept to me, to the extent that we can use that once again.”
For a black man from the South it would seem he would want better pay and conditions for his UAW "Brother's".
Sounding more like a Plantation owner from the 1700's than a Senator.
    Comments ?

Unions had their time and place, but have long outlived their usefulness.
I worked in printing for one of the big outfits. Plants up north were union, down south wasn't.

Had some northern workers come down to look at a new press we had.

Got to talking about pay and benefits, ours were significantly better than theirs. They got mad. "We're making less, and paying union dues???"

I’m betting you earned / got paid better - because your workforce was more productive.

I've been a member of a few unions, AFL-CIO, Operating Engineers, Pipe Fitters......... and worked for many that weren't union.........My opinion of a union is if the company you work for is good to their employees , they aren't needed

Listen to what he says about Senator John Cornyn toward the end of the video.

Fuuuuck…. Cornyn sucks; I’m doing everything I can to primary that fucking RINO hack out when he’s up for election.

It truly pains me to say it, but I’d almost (almost) rather have someone with a “D” behind their name than that fucktarded cunt of a politician representing me here in Tejas. At least you’d be getting punched in the face instead of getting stabbed in the back.

In capital cases, their is not a set date for the hangings which are conducted in secret.

You bring up good points. I have been a member of Teamsters, Operating Engineers, Millwrights and Steamfitters. I also ran my own fabrication business.
The one I worked hardest for and made the least money was operating my own business.
By traveling I learned the different pay packages with the unions. Boston was one of the highest pay scales and Beaumont, TX was one of the lowest.
So, it depends on the pay / benefit package of the local I worked out of.
But I survived 3 - 4 recessions by having a personal skill of being a certified welder, mechanic and field piping engineer. I went where the money and job was.
There are fewer and fewer companies that are good to their employees. Take a look around at the pickle America is in. Very few loyal employees. There is a reason.

so now democrat scum are trying to jump on the bandwagon and take credit for their fellow scum (that they protected previously) going down.
they all knew he was guilty for a long time, but now that the shit has spilled over, they all of a sudden care about it.

Even as Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell reassures the public about the state of the US economy, the organization is quietly laying off workers at its own doorstep.
The Federal Reserve system is cutting approximately 300 jobs through the end of the year, a Fed spokesperson confirmed to CNN on Friday.
This marks a rare drop in headcount at the central bank, the first since 2010. The Fed system employs about 21,000 people across its 12 regional reserve banks.
The spokesperson said the reductions, previously reported by Reuters, include a mix of layoffs, early retirements and opting not to fill vacant positions. The Fed declined to say how many people will be laid off.
The job cuts will mostly focus on support positions, including technology roles that are no longer needed, the Fed spokesperson said.

    In your head
The system is the tool for punishment. They new it was legal to do what he did but they went and charged him anyway. The expense and lost time to defend himself is the punishment. It also gained the headlines of the offense. That's to deter anyone else from doing the same. Even for the few people that see the outcome. They will not want to be hassled and deal with the government bullshit so they conform.

Let's look on the bright side. He ought to be pretty good a speaking Japanese after three years - with an Ebonics accent.
