I saw something on the news that said the 2nd degree charges are because only a Grand Jury can make a 1st degree charge in MN, and when it goes to them the charges will probably be upgraded. I'm not sure if that's true, but if so, Dinesh should know that.
Sorry, @MWAlex2 , that's two of your posts in a row I've disputed - not aimed at you, but the comments made by the people in them. I agree with Dinesh it definitely SHOULD be 1st degree, but I think it probably will end up there pretty quickly if I understood the process.

First, he had a hood rat grip (turned sideways), then it looks like he intentionally lowered it before firing. He was either trying to just scare the guy enough to stop the attack with warning shots, or he was trying to disable him with a shot to the legs or feet. Everything he did looked incredibly stupid, and he's lucky if he didn't get stabbed.
