I'm armed security at my church. Sunday, about 2/3 of the way in - a guy who used to come a lot, but disappeared about 9 months ago walked in. He was carrying something in both hands. The foyer light was turned off. I never knew that without that foyer light, that the light coming through the front door glass would only silhouette someone coming through the door. I didn't recognize him, only that he wasn't one of our regular members.

He waved as I moved in my chair to face him and started to get up. That bought just enough time for me to see that he was holding his hat, some papers, and a couple other items together in his hands as he walked in. Not going to lie, I had spent a split-second in that mental territory of "aw crap, I don't want to have to do this today". I felt guilty later for even having that thought cross my mind. Then I felt guilty for not being better prepared.

I fear the church shooting acts will only continue to increase. It is a shame that we even have to worry about it at all.

From now on, I'll check that foyer light every day as I come in too.
Good on you for filling that role. That resignation and commitment you felt when you got up is why real life for the aware is an endurance event.

Gold price reaches $4,000 an ounce for the first time ever

This makes me very happy…and sad.

I moved a lot of one of my main retirement accounts into physical gold and silver over the past 10 years (‘paper gold’) as a backstop against inflation, and it’s doing really, really well but this should make everyone nervous as hell. The dollar’s slide is accelerating, and wildly so.

Good farmland around here was going for $250K+/quarter 6 months ago. Yesterday several quarters went for $480K apiece. It has to be “free $$$” to the orgs or individuals spending it, because no one can figure how a farmer/rancher can make their investment back. Look up where Dawson Creek is; not close or particularly hospitable to anywhere. Also, we have had 4 yrs of drought, the last 3 so bad the town water source will show “0 flow” over the winter. WTF, how long can this shit continue without a crash. I don’t think the camel’s back can take much more.

Every fucking time.
he admitted to it.. poor kid only 13 years old

And now he's going to pardon Ole Gizzie face

Something hit me while in the shower thinking about his disgusting answer, not the "Well, I haven't heard her name in so long" bold face lie, but his answer on how he could consider it and will ask the DOJ to look into it.

Hear me out.

Any idea when this press conference was held/video from yesterday? I think the bigger question is—who planted that seed with some left-field question about something that's so 15 minutes ago?

I like to know which "reporter" teed up that question. I would check the WH visitor logs, but this administration decided not to make those public any longer, last time I checked.

He literally just says he knows nothing about it and would have to talk to the DOJ… click bait meant to elicit an angry response.
'Who????? I haven't heard that name in a loooong time.' —Pull this leg and it plays the black national anthem.

In fact, he uttered her name at least 4 times by my count thus far, when asked on August 5th about pardoning her after the deposition.

It was all over the news a couple months ago when his DOJ lawyer went to depose her in front of her lawyer, who, and you can't make this shit up, is buddies with said lawyer and did podcasts together. Oh, okay.

Need someone on the outside watching, your already behind the eight ball if you’re catching someone already on the inside.
