I agree with recycling. Serves a good purpose, and the right thing to do. The oceans were once the "Land Dump" of the planet. Glad to see ships, luxury liners, fishing boats, do more of the right thing. I get it. I imagine, when you were assigned to a ship, all the onboard waste was sorted, compacted, put in a special hold. Then removed once in port. Would hate to have been the mate to be the first one to open that bulkhead! LoL!I remember back in the 70’s , once a Navy ship was 12 miles off shore it was “Fantail is open” ….meaning everything from trash …old food ….arresting gear cables…. all got shit canned off the fantail. When I went back on my old ship everything had changed …all garbage that was recyclable was ….all other was handled differently , nothing was tossed.

Didn’t go over well with some of us , their flag came down mucho pronto, the US flag back up. The celebration shut down soon after. Kinda hope they try it again. Won’t be as nice this time.
