it is really amazing the stuff this guy says. also said US had to give him 40 bil/yr to run his gov. my ? is-is he delusional enough, entitled enough to really mean this shit? or,is he doing this under orders? if so,what would be the point? not happening. but is from the Lindsey Graham playbook for sure. he has said essentially same things regarding Iran as well as Ukraine. sounds a bit like the next NYC mayor as far as outlandish statements go.

I think you are on to something. It is not accepted, even here, to be honest about how the snipers (and their ROEs) we celebrate actually were/are used in practice. Especially against smelly potentially AK packing, toga wearing randos in dusty dry places. I think often, in practice, considering the inequality in skill and tools, it is effectively a license to kill, like 007. Yup, I’m ok with it, but let’s be honest about our process that results in Achmed getting ventilated. Now, how about drone strikes, and the extremely “flexible” ROE’s we have used them under…
The IDF has a history of using 22LR and shooting in the legs and butts. The way the story/ headline is written is deceiving. With the out of control propaganda you can't trust anything.

All the world is a stage

I don't know enough about this situation to make an informed opinion, but I DO remember reports from the beginning that terrorists were attacking these sites to either disrupt their effectiveness, or to outright steal the aid for themselves. Is it possible that what we're actually seeing is IDF overwatch operations and that those who were killed were seen preparing an attack? Something like the sniper overwatch in say, Fallujah when the Marines were going house-to-house on the streets and overwatch snipers were killing "innocent-looking civilians" whom they had observed hiding weapons or placing IEDs? My first reaction to that video was, "Automatic gunfire?" That's not a very stealthy method if you're trying to get away with something you shouldn't be doing. It's going to call attention to the operation and you'd think they would be prepared for the scrutiny that comes with it (ie, have a good reason for it).
Yeah, I don't know first hand either...and what you say sort makes sense until the original premise / purpose - deliver aid / do no harm, do know harm / and killing are jumbled together in a Kamala like word salad.

Some how routinely and heavy weapons sounds more discretionary and self assigned purview......... Moreover keep in mind one of the drivers on this is that they whacked international NGO aid workers - w/out declaring them / retro actively proving them as spies. Interesting choice - expose the truth (they were spies, and NGOs are a critical link in the global spy chain) or suffer bad press for arbitrarily killing a nuisance.

The Times of Israel says:

Haaretz report says military looking into possible war crimes, cites soldiers’ testimonies describing a ‘killing field,’ with troops routinely using heavy live fire for crowd control

What I find interesting beyond the micro, is that Israel is having a lot of bad shit written about it at a bad time to have it written; and that such loss of control means shit is showing up both domestically (while Bibi is on trial) and in the US press - and allegedly, the US is the only one in the relationship with a plane and a bomb to really meet certain objectives efficiently, and more safely than they could themselves. Secondly, I find it interesting that Bibi immediately (as in shut this shit down right now) goes to the sacrosanct: comparing this to blood libel. Bold move Cotton - pulling the privilege card as a first step......let's see how his (potential defense) of the same plays out.
