But wait, there's more—the federal government budget is based on GDP (which is why it has to be compiled by law). Talk about a ponzi scheme; so the more they spend, the more than can spend.
Yes, those things add to GDP in varying degrees, none of them adding as much as the middle class private sector and business owners who work their asses off. GDP is a convoluted metric when taken in isolation as it doesn’t take into account the public liabilities incurred to create the GDP - increasing the debt. It doesn’t take into account the liability side of the equation and it’s very real implications. And it is rarely explained in the context of the money supply or the velocity of money in the economy.
The government can increase the debt to support the approved budget and around 12-18 months (monetary lag) the results are seen in the data. The problem with this is that the debt required to pump up the GDP is pushed onto the taxpayers and generations of their children afterwards. IOW, the GDP desired now decreases the standard of living for decades afterwards. And that compounds. Politicians are selling the citizens future labors to get reelected and no one sees it.
Mathematical equations are cool, but there always something left out. Usually it is the government’s commitment of a living or unborn generation to pay off the debt at a later date. Something I learned long ago: it’s easy for an economist who has never done a days worth of labor in his life to talk about the economy, but it’s Joe Sixpack who knows what the economy is doing well before the economists get the data and crunch the numbers. And it is very few economists who actually are able to understand an equation good enough to see what it is truly saying. Hell, most financiers and economists don’t even know how the denominator in an equation can tell the story without going through the calculation for a directional answer.
GDP is backward looking. The CPI is as well and is jiggered, total shit, along with BLS data. This is one reason the Fed is impotent . It’s the current situation that matters to the ones paying the debt burden that inflates the GDP.

I think we all knew they were full of shit. It has been enlightening to see just how corrupt they are. The money laundering is epic, it even surprised Elon and he had more insight then most certainly more then the average guy.
