I recently had someone who is extremely sold on the vaccines and will not hear anything about the thousands dead and hundreds of thousands hurt by them talking to me. After some discussion he told me “people gonna fuck around and find out”… I replied “yes you are”. I think I’m off the Christmas card list.
The absolute indoctrination of people I would have characterized as solid thinking folks is amazing. My aunt and uncle (last 2 of the generation before me) were vaccinated early on, they’re in their 80s. They are otherwise very smart conservative people who were attacked viciously by my uncle’s brother during the election (his brother has not spoken to them since).
They fell completely for the fear. Cancelled the family Christmas gathering last year that has been concurrently happening for over a hundred years. Wouldn’t come to birthday get togethers or baby showers we had among other family. My aunt called me crying a while back and said she felt like she was ostracized….I explained very gently that she had ostracized herself and we had continued to just live instead of cower.
They went to get their booster a few weeks ago and my Aunt was extremely ill afterward and my uncle ended up in the hospital with myocarditis. He’s home but very weak. They are now waking up and reading about the real truth where before they didn’t want to discuss it with the rest of our clan who didn’t take it.
My older sister took it and one cousin, both of them are 4 years older than me but not in the most at risk group. Both had a rough week following the 1st and second and say they won’t be getting the booster. All my other family is proudly still pureblood and had C19 and recovered.
My church family is the most anti-vax anti-Brandon group I know. Solid folks with eyes wide open.
Meanwhile, my antibodies are still sky high from 18m ago and you can see the light bulbs coming on in my aunt and uncle. I support people making their choice but I wish they had the initiative to play the tenth man and look for all of the information available.

I just heard from a friend in AZ, they had a "town" meeting with a guy who owns shipping companies that move product from California. He said to expect a supply shut down in about 5 weeks.
CA won't let private companies pull stuff off the docks now anymore. Distribution is going to come to a complete stop.
Florida is telling them to dock there, they won't play games, but it'll take the ships time to go through the canal & get there.
So stock up on stuff, food, gas, Christmas.

If you are going through the canal, might as well hit up Texas and all the other gulf coast states. Plenty of room especially if there is suddenly long term demand for even more cargo terminals.
