One of the places we have to shoot here is a 500-800 yard section of a high voltage power line (the ones that make your hair stand up when walking under them)
will this have any thing to do with point of impact vs point of aim? something I have wondered about but never found an answer.
Thanks

Re: possibly a stupid question???

Well lets see, copper moving threw or along magnetic lines of force,....Yes, there is something to that, but Mr. Edison nor Mr. Westinghouse are not around to answer that question.

Use a copper flashed steel core bullet,(the 30 cal 158gr that Israel uses works best} shooting with and across the Hv lines(270Kva or better), an see what happens. As the Voltage gets near or above 270Kva, when the Rh is low vs high an the flight apex is near the lines, it can be a game changer.

Re: possibly a stupid question???

copper vs magnetic/high voltage just made me wonder ..... all i could really see was either I made bad wind calls all day or something else was happening... at 570 it took right at 20" of windage to get on target if I remember correctly

20" of wind is not from the power lines, even the 1 million KV boxed lines in NY state won't do that much. Something else happening there.
