How stupid Is PRG? Sorry to say, but if they had any other clientele - they might have succeeded. But they got the gun nuts, the only ones that is 100% into the laws on this subject, that know their rights, so, what is it they hope to accomplish?
I would gladly turn mine it, but it was lost during a boating incident. Somewhere along a 20 mile stretch of river.
They’ll probably find it there because their odds just went up by 50%…I lost mine upon that same stretch…
They are only offering refund of the initial purchase, so anybody returning it is out the unlock fee... I can’t imagine there’s a lot of takers.

I disregarded the first one...I will disregard this one as well but I love the language that they use
PRG sold a handful (60?) of full power RAPTAR units that were locked in the low power mode. This theoretically made it ok with the powers that be to sell them to civilians.
There are at least 3 known “keys” to unlock them and set them back at full power (thousands of keys, 3 or more in private hands).
Someone unlocked several of them for the purchasers.
Someone caught wind and there’s a bit of a to-do about what should be done about it and who should be considered responsible.
Now PRG wants them back but won’t pay the owners what they have into them (purchase price plus unlock fee... which was substantial).

They're worth more every day because of this.
This whole thing comes across as a complete half ass attempt to cover their ass after being pressured from some .gov entity about this. Basically 'checking a box' and most .mil/.gov related companies do just to say 'we did that' and provide zero actual substance.
I sort of feel bad for them because from my understanding, they knew they were technically unlockable, sold them as locked/low power and somehow got caught up in this. It would kind of be like blaming a car manufacturer that someone fucked up their emissions shit in the car afterwards. Technically ANYTHING can be done with something. Not really sure how its their problem.
Also, apparently no one really cares because they're only willing to give you LESS than what someone who unlocked it paid, in pre inflated dollars with nothing to replace it with. Yay? LOL or you could sell it on the EE here and in various other places for who knows how many times what you paid for it.
What is one of these worth 3-4 years from now? I doubt the answer to that is anything less than 3x what was paid for them in the group buy.
But you do you PRG and keep sending me shit with scary words and warnings on it while you keep trying to buy them at purchase price from a year ago.
P.S. - You're a complete moron if you fill out the release with 'I agree to your terms and will not be sending the unit back'.

All the dangers and warnings and even a pre-paid FedEx label to send the unit back after you sign the release. It is hilarious to say the least. I enjoy reading and shredding them and not responding in any way.
I repeat so everyone understands it. There is absolutely no regulation contained in the CFR that prohibits civilians from owning a Class IIIb laser system. It is a regulation that is self imposed by the manufacturers as they don't want to be constantly in litigation because someone blinded or hurt someone's vision by improperly using such a unit. In some regards, I can see their POV. However, they overestimate the number of fools that can afford to spend that kind of coin on a unit like this one. People that can afford it are generally not irresponsible to that extent.
