Not a total novice to reloading but would like some advice. I am using IMR 4350 cause H 4350 is not available. My loads are shooting with Hornady 123 AMAX at 2720 FPS from a 20 inch barrel. I am going to be using a 143 ELDX for a hunting round and would like to know if there is a better powder for heavier bullets or more suited for a gas gun. I have been seeing RL16 gaining popularity. Any suggestions?

H4350 is the gold standard. RL16 seems to be performing very well for folks as a substitute, but I haven't tried it myself. I've used IMR 4451 very successfully with 140gr class projectiles. I don't quite get the same speed as H4350 in my gun, but it's been very consistent for me. IMR 4350 should probably be fine for your purpose, too. Some searching around the forum will yield more specific info...
