A while back I purchased factory seconds LRM primers for cheap. I think we were all curious on how they would perform in low Temps. We are having a freeze right now here in tx and will drop to the low 20s.
I have not had a chance to test some loads with them but I will in the future and record everything so I can share. In the meanwhile, I can try and sacrifice 20 primers just to see if they will perform.
Is it just as simple as load 20 cases with a primer and try firing them? Will I hear some sort of bang that will indicate it worked? What can I expect or what can I do to test them? I was thinking of loading them and leaving them outside overnight.

I will do that later as well where I have access to 100 yards for shooting groups against Wolf LRM.
What I want to test now is if they will indeed go bang. These are factory seconds that got rejected for having less than .1% less propellant. Their disclaimer was that these may not work in cold temps.
This is why I want to test at the very least 20, especially if all I have to do is load them and shoot without have to do brass prep, etc.
My buddy tested the small rifle and small pistol seconds from American. All went bang...
Next step, I would load 25 known loads in a known rifle with known primers then load another 25 exactly the same but with these seconds primers...
Shoot them all over the chrono at the same distance at the same time for accuracy.
Compare your groups and chrono numbers... I may do this, it's 5F here right now.. perfect cold weather testing as I have some small rifle and small pistol seconds

Do you know if those were the white river energetics and if they had the same warning of having lower propellant amounts?
And yes, I will do very analytical testing and record everything. I just haven't had enough time. My barrel was/is also new so it was speeding up. I'm just at right over 200 rounds so hopefully speeding up is done by now.
This is pretty much my format. All MVs are taken on a garmin. If you think there is anything I am missing or there is other info I should gather, please advise.
