Claremore, ok
I see alot of people running the RCBS chargemaster. Has anyone else tried the Layman 1200 DPS3 or the Hornady Lock-N-Load® Auto Charge. I am in the market for something like this.

thanks again guys.

Re: Poweder and scale combos

Everybody needs a balance beam scale, so make sure you have one of those first, the Chargemaster is the gold standard in electronic combo units, reports are the Lyman and Pact are not as good, the Hornady is the new kid on the block, but I don't know if there anygood, IMHO get a Chargmaster.

If you are looking for speed I still think a good throw and then trickling onto a balance beam is faster than the automeasures but..... you can be doing your seating, wiping and putting loads in a box while the charge drops which is way more relaxing. I just did a lil writeup on another thread here on my Hornady.

Re: Poweder and scale combos

I've had my CM1500 for a couple of months now and love it. It's fast enough for me and throws very consistant charges. I back it up with a balance beam and every time I cross check it with the other scale (randomly), it's dead on.

I have the Hornady and my dad uses the RCBS. The hornady can be tempermental with some powders but it easily overcome by adjusting the trickle point. I check mine against my rcbs scale every 5 throws just for insurance and it is very accurate.
