Catching wind and breaking wind are pretty similar. They both smell bad and tend to dissipate over time.
"80% made in Taiwan" is a strong statement. I would like proof of what parts of the scope are made in Asia, if any at all. Not arguing with anybody here, but throwing that out there without a basis is asking for trouble.
I understand a key employee has left Premier, under apparently bad terms, and I've heard everything under the sun as to what is happening to Premier.
All I know, is I continue to order the scopes for customers, continue to receive them, and they almost always continue to make the recipients happy. We obviously are concerned with the recent scuttlebutt, but please understand we don't make business decisions based on scuttlebutt.
As to the parallax ring binding, I talked with Jerry Ricker about this when he still worked at Premier and he said the internal tolerances of the scope are so tight that in some instances (usually alloy rings; but Badgers in this case at RO) the tiny deflection that occurs at ring pressure is enough to bind the scope. There was supposed to be a redesign of the scope to avoid this from happening in the future. Anyone who has hefted a Heritage knows the tubes aren't thin. These things are stout.
All we have ever tried to do is find the best optics that serve the needs of serious shooter at the best price. We've also been very open and transparent as a dealer e.g, the 3-18 SH IOR scope. The difference here is that I had first hand knowledge of the IOR failures, and the news regarding the Premier has been mostly "rumors on the wind". We sell a lot of them and most are thrilled. Throwing out derogatory, FUD creating comments serves nobody.
So please, lets get the facts out there, or move on from this subject. I'm open to either.
