Tried out a new loading of 308 today... Went to the indoor 100 yard tube range, too late to make the sand pit.

GAP HRT with a S&B,
308 168 SMK, 41 Grains of Reloder 15

Just a load to mimic factory ammo and use some powder I have left. Need to get me some more Varget.

Not too shabby for a load picked out of a hat.

New chassis and Sterk bolt handle. The wife doesn't know yet so you get shitty garage pics.🤠

You can’t just pull the ol’ faithful.. “oh I’ve had this one for a while hun” usually works 85% of the time. Although I gotta admit the red chassis might be too noticeable to play that card. Beauty rig!!

I'll share my stick!

Zermatt Origin
26" Criterion 6mm Creedmoor
THE KRG Bravo
Timney 2-stage
MPA BA mount
TBAC Ultra 9
Vortex Razor 4.5-27
My own sponge camo. I have a few green/tan guns so I wanted to do something a little different on my match rifle.

The barrel is a varmint contour. Which was a mistake I see now...I blame myself! At the time I thought this could be a hunting/match rifle so I was trying to save weight. I've realized that is a ridiculous concept. I've since built a kick ass hunting rifle so now I just want this as heavy as practical! Luckily, I chose a barrel burner cartridge so I'll be able to correct my mistake pretty soon! 😂

Top to bottom:
• Springfield Model 1898 Krag with Cataract Tool and Optical Co. scope
• Winchester Model 1895 Lee Navy with Winchester A5 scope
• Springfield 1903 A5 with Winchester A5 scope
• Remington 1903A4 with Weaver M73B1
• Remington M40 with Redfield "greenie" scope

• Remington 40X with Sionics modified barrel and Leatherwood USMC MCCDC marked scope

Some extremely vintage rifles:

Top to bottom:

• Barrel from a wall gun that was used by Alessandro Farnese's (Pope Paul III) castle guards and has Farnese family crest stamped on it. The Farnese family crest markings have the crossed keys of St. Peter and a papal hat. These papal symbols were added to the Farnese family crest after Alessandro became Pope Paul III in 1534. The primitive peep sights also help date the barrel, these type of sights were used in the early 1500's. The rear sight also has a slot in it for changing the aperture size!
• Military matchlock musket made by Peter Peck. Too much info to type, read this thread if you're interested, this is my rifle - http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?p=167030
• Left to right: 2 large handgonne barrels from the mid 1400's and 2 small handgonne barrels from the 1360/70's. The 2 small handgonne barrels were used in the Battle of Aljubarrota on August 14, 1385. More information on these 4 barrels can be found in these threads (my barrels are from this gentleman's collection): http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=18049 and http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10578&highlight=hand+cannon+1400
• A small handgonne barrel from about 1400 in tiller (early wood stock). The barrel is original and is over 600 years old, the tiller is a modern reproduction to make a complete handgonne. These handgonnes had a max effective range of about 25 yards, were quick to reload. Just dump primitive gunpowder in the barrel until it's about 3/4 full and then drop a marble ball in there. Coincidentally, quite a few of these early handgonnes also ended up becoming early hand grenades!

Here's the handgonne from 1400 with some modern upgrayedds, lol:

Just an F class build, but i've always wanted to have something worth posting. Took me about 4 years from the first part ordered to the first shot (i identify as "a poor" according to some here😉). So parts list...

Kelbly Panda action
Bartlien HV 32" 1-9 twist barrel
Bix'nAndy trigger
McMillian XIT stock
Vortex Golden Eagle in Kelbly dovetail rings
Duplin Rorer-Spec bipod

...and the work done by Moon out of KC (thank you, sir)

Looks great... another 200 yards and those 308's would be hitting that wall, dropping right to the ground!

Though that velocity at 600 looks a bit faster then 308 win...

What caliber?

It's a .308. FT/R build. Shooting Berger 200.20x, Lapua Palma brass, 43.5gr Varget, CCI BR-4
during load development i had one that was a 2 SD with 10 ES, but at 100 yards it looked like a snowman with 5 shot groups.

Haven't stretched it past 600 yet, but I'm hoping to get out to Lodi this next year to see how i do at 1000.

Looks like she shoots (I like the extra shot to it made up for that first one 😎)

A little 800 yard context, from the 308 naysayers....

I spend too much time in the bear pit, looking at T&A and eating popcorn. "The German", I believe, doles out wisdom regarding "the poor", while "DirtyD" uses plus size loving to keep the conversations on the straight and narrow.

That was my last "official" match of the year. Had one extra round... and yeah, that first one... I own it. It was me. I was so confident that I didn't need to look at that flag or pay any mind to that breeze sneaking up my calf...

Finally took the leap and got a rifle to start the journey with. Nothing fancy. Bergara BMP in 6.5 Creedmoor. Topped with a vortex strike eagle. MDT vertical grip. And an AAC single port brake
