Did a bit of searching and found a ton dealing with the aftermarket, but not much about stockers...

I have a Rem700 barreled action (.243 heavy out of a VLS) I was going to build as a prairie poodle gun for the now EX girlfriend. I have two other SA's and don't really have the need for a third. Broke in nice and easy, with only 18 shots in the field. Seems she didn't enjoy the "pink mist" as much as she lead me to believe... Weird, eh? Stock everything, nothing altered or modified.

Would asking about $500 be out of line? Too high? Too low? What are your thoughts?

(NOTE: Be advised, this is NOT a for sale thread. I have yet to decide if I should keep it, build it, use it as a door stop or putter.... If I decide to sell it, you'll see it offered here in the PX first. Thanks.)

Aren't new VLS's around $850?

$4-450 sounds like a decent price for a used barreled receiver

I can get a NIB basic 700 (ADL in a multitude of calibers) for $380 (less than that with my discount).
