price of .308

I tired a search but I could not hammer anything specific down. I apologize for my ignorance ahead of time, I am brand new to the .308 game, all my previous ammo purchases have been for .45, .223, 270. 22lr, etc. I have not een looked in the last 6 mos for any .308 until I recent purchase. Every where i look both locally and online is over $1 a round. Is this normal for "range ammo" right now? I found some brown bear for .60 but passed on it. What are you guys paying right now?

it was due to the panic after sandy incident. my guess eventually will drop down, but right now thats the price everyone is selling.

okay, I have a chance of picking up some hornady whitetail 150gr for 1.25/rd I love hornady stuff in my other guns so i figured I would make sure it is not uncommon to pay that right now. Believe me, being in CT right now i fully understand the sandy hook thing. Try to find ammo anywhere locally right now is harder than winning powerball.

I needed some Lapua cases for reloads so I just picked up 400 rounds of 168gr Lapua for 800 delivered. A little more than others but 400 pieces of Lapua brass will last a long time on reloads.
