I have been having trouble with too tight primers on some old Frontier and Norma brass .The Frontier is 7.5 Swiss and the Norma is 6.5 Swede .I use a Lee hand primer and broke the handle last night and they were going in very tight .Some didn't even set flush so had to reset them with my loading press . Im using Winchester primers and they Mic .210 so the size is right .I wonder if there is any way to loosen the pockets ? Usually with federal brass I have opposite problem . Arnie

starting w.Fed's, can be quite a happy perspective that, if/when the pockets are becoming larger, you can utilize again the same brass w. Winchester primers...
Norma is very fine brass!
(aside the 6,5SW ,by the way, for 8mm.Maus, it's the best available ,in my opinion)

I bought some Norma 7-08 and priming was impossible. I gave up. The brass is heavy / thick. Pressures were up over Winchester . Dimensionally, they were a tad [.001 to .0015 bigger near the base. Might be a good thing in some [my] chamber. Cost and prep put me off. In retrospect, they might have been worth the extra mile.

I think it´s a question of being used to it and accepting it for what it is, I usually get 15 reload out of a set of 100 308 Win cases Norma, I have never once had Rem/Win make it at all, RWS/sako, made by Norma and Lapua are the other headstamps that I find usefull.

The seating of primers is a pain the first rounds, and then gets better and better. Yes- Norma especially in 6,5x55 is thicker around the web than other cases in 6,5x55 Rem cases are to thin and will balloon slightly to fit a chamber. /Chris
