Gunsmithing Prints for CIP cartridges with Imperial measurements?

I quick search brought this up. You could do a couple conversions and compare the PT&G drawing with the actual CIP spec. My guess is they’re functionally the same, as I can’t imagine anyone would have much of a need to molest the original.

Thanks,, I have the CIP print; I can do all the conversions but the print gets pretty messy and hard to read/compare when done that way.

Actually, the Soviets "molested" the cartridge themselves- 6.5 Vostok. Target round, won the Olympic Biathlon at Innsbruck before the rules changed. They manufactured ammo for it back in the day... the rifles are pretty rare.

I have a print from Manson for it they had on file, need to go through it to see if anything is different other than being necked down from the original.
Should be quite accurate, but definitely a barrel burner. Performance I'm guessing somewhere between a .260 and 6.5-06.

Inexperienced with custom wildcats, necking down to 6.5 would no doubt be a "process".

By molested I mean making changes to the standard cartridge dimensions, like you’d find with .308 for example. Probably hundreds of variations of that.

If you’re gonna do something custom for yourself, it won’t matter, just start off of your chosen brass. I’d use Lapua.
