Re: Project Recon Commander....Pics!!!!

Chris,

Beautiful pistol!!

* I like the front strap texturing.
* The rounding of the magwell/MSH is fantastic!
* I'm very fond of the smooth recoil spring plug!
* I like your way of making the barrel flush with the barrel bushing.
* I think the way you've had the lines meet at the front of slide/receiver with the "U" shape is very unique.

Here is a question I would ask of you and many other 1911 makers - whey all the work in making so much of the pistol black, but leaving the trigger silver-colored aluminum? I'm surprised more people don't make them black? By *NO MEANS* is this a negative towards you! Just curious is all.

Thanks for sharing some awesome gun porn!

Re: Project Recon Commander....Pics!!!!

Very slick piece. I like the Ball cuts into the frame treatment. I like the pattern chosen for the MGG and front strap. The blending of the magwel is executed quite nicely as well. Love the flush slide stop too. Very very nice piece my friend.

I just went to your FB page and see your utilizing a Caspian Recon frame. I know lol...the name should've given me a hint!!! Great build!!!

Re: Project Recon Commander....Pics!!!!

All depends on taste. The color of this one is more grey than black believe it or not. I just thought for color tie in the trigger and barrel hood to be natural.

I like all black myself!

Re: Project Recon Commander....Pics!!!!

My view:

It has a smooth flow of the lines and blending of the components that speak to me. They essentially tell me that if this were my gun, I would pick it up and it would feel like an extension of my arm.

Normally, I am in the camp of "If you have seen one custom 1911, you have pretty much seen them all", and I have a few in one of my safes.

That being said, this particular model looks particularly well executed.

Cheers,
MS

Re: Project Recon Commander....Pics!!!!

Whats a price on something like that? You can PM me if need be, thanks.

Re: Project Recon Commander....Pics!!!!

Looks nice.

Too bad about the file marks to the right of the grip safety.....

Good luck

Re: Project Recon Commander....Pics!!!!

Not so noticeable in picture number 3... Could just be in the photo...

Re: Project Recon Commander....Pics!!!!

Yeah, I know Mo, and #3 is focused on the bottom of the grip... I just found it surprising & was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt...

With a mill, not sure if that is the answer you are looking for or not

Re: Project Recon Commander....Pics!!!!

Chris,

Glad to see you on the forums here as well! Guys Chris is top notch. I own one of his 1911's, one of the nicest firing ones I have.

Regards,
