Gunsmithing PT&G Bolt Body

I am considering buying a fluted PT&G bolt body for my savage rifle. Do I simple replace the new bolt body for the factory bolt body and I am good to go or is it something that needs to be done by a professional?

Looks like it says ground to your specs, so you would need to measure your reciever, subtract whatever clearance you want it to allow and order accordingly. other than that its a direct part swap and shouldnt require a gunsmith unless you are not able to measure properly or make an educated decision about how much clearance to allow.

I have heard its a direct swap from some and that it needs to have a little taken of the back to set the primary extraction correct.Others with more exp than myself could better answer you.Like mentioned before make sure you get a good measurement before ordering from Mr. Kiff

The lugs are slightly over sized so yes it would have to be fit if not changing barrels. They are super nice though. I will probably be using one in all my personal Remington builds from now on.

he is talking about a savage bolt BODY, not a remington bolt. this one uses the existing savage bolt head thats already fit to the rifle
