So Im attending SHOT again this year..
Pulsar booth had their Trails on display with LRF. Played with it everyday so far.
They currently have the inversion button doubling up as the On/ Off for the RF and
also serves as the control for Scan or single measure mode.
Scan appears to work well, offering shot angle degree as well as range, all in upper right of
screen.
Inside the menu function, currently on the Xp50LRF, is the option to display measured or actual
distance as well.

I noticed that the use of Inversion function appears to be disabled while using the RF mode.
This hopefully they change. Would much rather be able to switch from White Hot to Black Hot
on the fly.. would be cumbersome to have to shut down RF mode to use inversion, then resume
again..

Also saw the battery pack alternate on the shelf.. 3 AA type
Pulsar also has external battery power bank at the show.

For the Helion, they have a phone bracket arm that holds the phone via the 1/4x28 mount hole, so you can view what the Helion sees via Streamvision while using it.
Will be slick to scan 1 handed with Helion away from eye, and observe image through
the phone..

Thanks for posting!

Pulsar also has product data up on their website.

For me, the showstopper with the trail xp50 is the optical magnification of 1.6 ... while that level of thermal is useful for my coop defense purpose, I've generally been using 1x thermal monoculars (armasight q-14 mod 0 or atn ODIN) on .22LR for that purpose.
If pulsar had a 3x optical trail, I would have one already. For me, the 1.6x 640 sort of seems like a 3.2x 320 with a 0.5x digital :)

Yes.. I agree with you on that.. it could use a boost in the native optical power.
I reckon that is deemed marketing strategy.. always leaving room for improvement, hence the next model evolution..

I am going to forward your comment on this to Pulsar today at SHOT.. plant
the seed so to speak, while Im there yet again playing with the LRF Trails.
