Just got confirmation that my Brevis Delta P suppressor has shipped. So, I should have it on the Diablo this coming week sometime... stay tuned!!!

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Rock on Brother... isn't that the sweetest shooting AR? It's so much fun in the shoot house...

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Ya, I love shooting this little guy, and I am looking forward to cqb work. Total weight with optics, suppressor is just over 7 lbs.
I'm contemplating running it in Pat's class (TAPS) I have coming up next week.

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Brother... try 55 grain TAP... mine loves it!!!

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

I went off the suggestion of Byron, even have some Winchester 64gr. I'll grab the TAP today and give it a go.

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Well, my MK107 is at the local shop... (SOT) getting my paperwork done for the Brevis Delta P compact suppressor, and will be mounted... photo shoot and testing to commence very soon!!!

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Finally picked up a Mk107 Diablo can't wait to take it out and run it. Thanks for the review DMack.

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Brevis can is mounted, I just need to go pick it up next week... excited. Yes.

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Lightfoot... enjoy that beast. It is a HOOT to SHOOT!!!

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

We need an update on the brevis. How about it? Had a chance to try it yet?

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Looks like it might be so much fun to shoot he hasn't come off the range to write a post! :)

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Update:

I apologize... been VERY busy at work. I have two of my Full Time Instructors leaving for deployment, and I have had to cover down on their classes.

So, to date... I have about 1500 rounds through the MK107 since adding the Brevis Suppressor. I had some cycling issues at first, running the Spikes Tactical ST-2 buffer. I have a standard carbine buffer spring, and the PWS buffer tube, but used the ST-2 buffer, thinking that it would be sufficient.

I could fire eight or nine rounds, then it would leave the round in the chamber... effectively stripping the extractor off of the case. This meant excessive carrier speed, so I added a 9mm buffer, effectively the same as an H3 buffer I suppose.

Now, the Diablo runs flawlessly.

I spoke with Todd at PWS... he is running an H3 buffer in his Diablo / Brevis combo, with zero issues.

Of note... the suppressor works. I can fire it with zero hearing protection, and my ears do not "ring" at all. It's not the quietest package, but it is a compact suppressor, on a 7" barrel. I was not expecting "Holywood" quiet... I just wanted functionality.

I have not run it fully auto / select fire with the can on it yet, but will soon.

It digests .223 American Eagle, M855 5.56 NATO, 69 Grain Winchester Ranger, and 77 grain OTM with the suppressor and 9mm buffer, with zero issues.

The rifle does have a wee bit of a "kick" to it, I attribute it to being so light, in conjunction with the heavy buffer. Not terrible, just noticeable.

Chrono testing will come soon. I have not had time.

So far, two thumbs up!!!

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Note to add:

I will be using the Brevis on my 12.5" AR along with a Yankee Hill can, to see how it functions on a longer barrel, in relation to a "traditional" style suppressor.

Stay tuned.

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Update:

I'm having some cycling issues with the Brevis Compact / MK107 combo... I'm working with PWS on a fix. They are having issues with the "Dead Blow" Buffer in the Enhanced Buffer Tube... this is the direct cause. I will write more on this soon...

Great choice of can

I can't really comment on accuracy since I have not mounted an optic yet. But as far as reliability, I have had zero malfunctions shooting either suppressed or unsuppressed. The weapon cycles flawlessly with the suppressor. With the full brake, the rifle is extremely loud and shoots small fireballs out the side of the brake, but is very controllable. With the suppressor on, the weapon is scary quiet. Haven't had a chance to fire subsonic ammo yet, but look forward to it. The only complaint that I have so far is that the top front section of rail, that the front buis sits on, extends far enough forward to make taking off the suppressor a chore. It interferes with pressing the quick detach lever on the suppressor.

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Any solution yet to the MK107 and Brevis Suppressor cycling issue?

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

I've used my diablo for hog control, equipped with a DBAL D2, YHM 223 suppressor shooting LC m855 62 gr penetrators. Had my 4x raptor on it for a short time but all my buddys kept making fun. Haha. Hog ambush in an open field with a diablo is the most fun one can have with cloths on! The little 556 obviously is not as effective as my 308 or blackout but it works. I would guess so far the diablo has taken over 40 hogs from 40#s up to 200#s +/-. Its also great for kids, my 9 yr old can handle it very well and took 3 hogs on his first outing using the diablo, DBAL and pvs 14. I'm waiting on my brevis can to complete the package and after watching DMacks videos I'm excited as ever! DMack, I'm very grateful for you taking your time to write this eval, very informative and much appreciated!!

Re: PWS MK107 Diablo

Thanks for taking the time to do these helpful reviews.
I was all set on getting an MK107 5.56 (I see mention of a 7.62 version but I don't see it on the PWS site) with a Brevis Can, but I see that Dmack is having cycling issues with this setup and I see others who are not having issues.
So I'm not sure now if this can be considered a reliable go to configuration.
looking forward to an update.

Thanks again.

never heard of PWS until shotshow 2013 and i'm very excited, especially now after reading about it here! kind of sad i missed out on Gen 1 PWS MK's back in 2009... i'm looking for the MK109 300blk rifle, anyone know where i could get one? i pray to God they are still floating around NIB! thanks.
