Re: PWS MK107 Diablo
Update:
I apologize... been VERY busy at work. I have two of my Full Time Instructors leaving for deployment, and I have had to cover down on their classes.
So, to date... I have about 1500 rounds through the MK107 since adding the Brevis Suppressor. I had some cycling issues at first, running the Spikes Tactical ST-2 buffer. I have a standard carbine buffer spring, and the PWS buffer tube, but used the ST-2 buffer, thinking that it would be sufficient.
I could fire eight or nine rounds, then it would leave the round in the chamber... effectively stripping the extractor off of the case. This meant excessive carrier speed, so I added a 9mm buffer, effectively the same as an H3 buffer I suppose.
Now, the Diablo runs flawlessly.
I spoke with Todd at PWS... he is running an H3 buffer in his Diablo / Brevis combo, with zero issues.
Of note... the suppressor works. I can fire it with zero hearing protection, and my ears do not "ring" at all. It's not the quietest package, but it is a compact suppressor, on a 7" barrel. I was not expecting "Holywood" quiet... I just wanted functionality.
I have not run it fully auto / select fire with the can on it yet, but will soon.
It digests .223 American Eagle, M855 5.56 NATO, 69 Grain Winchester Ranger, and 77 grain OTM with the suppressor and 9mm buffer, with zero issues.
The rifle does have a wee bit of a "kick" to it, I attribute it to being so light, in conjunction with the heavy buffer. Not terrible, just noticeable.
Chrono testing will come soon. I have not had time.
So far, two thumbs up!!!
