im going to be buying a Vortex Razor HD soon and I'm considering picking up a QD base to swap between an RPR in 308 (will buy when I find available) and my LR308. I've never considered swapping optics since I'd just buy one scope and dedicate it to one rifle, however. It's not practical when there are options. My issue is the 20 MOA is built into the RPR where as my LR has no cant in the rail. These will be a 1K rifles. Without having any real data on ballistics for my particular loads for the 308 (focused on 6.5 CM mostly) I'm unsure if I get a 0 MOA QD mount my LR and Razor combo can get the job done at distance without holdover, and likewise a 20 MOA QD mount which would be effective for the LR would put 40MOA on the RPR and make not only ride height an issue but possibly a 200 yd zero an issue as well. I think I've pretty much convinced myself this is a bad/senseless idea but I'm here looking for your guys advice.

A 20 moa/6ish mil mount should still allow a 100 yd zero on the RPR. It depends on whether you get a true 20 moa elevation out of the RPR rail - I didn't- it ended up being about 10moa/3mils. It's plenty for either the 308 or 6.5 if you have a scope with enough elevation. I'd go with a 20 moa mount anytime for those calibers even on top of that 20 moa rail.
