Do the QD mounts that have return to zero like the spuhr work for 2 different rifles. I realize they will most likely have a different zero for each rifle but if I knew for example rifle 2 shot .3 mils right based on the zero of rifle 1 and I adjusted for this. Would this work till I get a dedicated scope for rifle 2?

I can't be much help to you, as I have always felt that it's better to have one rifle and two scopes, than two rifles and one scope. The rational being that the rifle scope is the single most likely point of failure.

For tactics purposes yes. Bobro mounts. For bench shooting maybe not, I wouldn't really know. My Bobro mounts, I have more than a dozen on more than a dozen scopes, return to well under 1MOA.
I have a la rue QD mount that I use on both my TRG42 and Tikka T3 (in an AI clone stock). Repeatable return to zero to 0.1mil. From the tikka to the TRG I need to adjust elevation up0.2mil and right2.1mil. However it is very repeatable.
