Quad rail on heavy barrel ar

Re: Quad rail on heavy barrel ar

are you sure you even want a quad rail? do you really need to add anymore shit to a havy barrel AR to make it even heavier?

i would go with a PRI, or JP free float tube, and just add rails as needed...keep the weight down..

Re: Quad rail on heavy barrel ar

i think most here have at least one 16" AR weighing close to 20lbs that is impossible to use for anything

its all about the learning experience, and being tacticool i guess..my first AR project was heavy as hell when i finished it....live and learn..

Re: Quad rail on heavy barrel ar

keep it lite and simple and clean. add a few short rails for when you simply want to put a light or something like that on. Youll appreciate it later

Re: Quad rail on heavy barrel ar

I almost put a railed forend on 18" AR I built last week. I gave it a bit more thought and knew if I did that it would be covered with crap strapped all over it. I just went with a round free float tube.

Thx </div></div> Any AR-15 type rail will fit. I like the spikes rails, BAR is the only rail I will buy. When I first got into ARs I had to try what worked and what didn't, you get some advice on what works for everyone else and it might not work for you. Nice part is there is some serious selection for people to make a rifle from scratch that will work for them. What do you want a rail for? The Low pro gas block will work with just about any rail so you should be good.
