I have to say that quality equipment makes a difference.

I recently made several upgrades on my 7mm RM rifle.

1) I went from a stock HS precision stock to a KRG Whiskey 3, Gen 6 Chassis. The fit and finish is second to none. Being able to make micro adjustments on the buttpad cant and height has made a difference in my comfort level. I like the buttpad canted inward and previously, I would have to move my shoulder to adjust for the way that the stock fit into my shoulder pocket.

The stock has a solid feel to it and it is easy to maneuver the rear bad on this chassis verses the stock one.
I love having a bottom magazine verses a top loader. I also like the contour of the adjustable cheek rest.

2) I went from a SWFA SS 3-15 to a Kahles 624i and this is probably the second biggest difference I've noticed. The glass is bright and crystal clear. the tracking is perfect. I went from 50% first round hits to 87% first round hits.

3) The biggest difference I've noticed is getting my barrel threaded and adding an APA little bastard. I cannot tell you how much of a difference this has made. The felt recoil is somewhere between a .223 and a .308. For the first time, I can spot my misses and hits.

4) Getting my bolt knob threaded and adding a Badger Ordinance bolt knob has made cycling the bolt a breeze. No more dinged fingers on that god awful Remington factory bolt knob. I'm serious, the guys at Remington must have been stoned when they came up with that idea.

5) Purchasing the Precision Underground rear ELA bag has been refreshing. I like that I can place my hand in the vertical or horizontal strap and provide tension. Great investment.

A day late, but I just received my Elite Iron Lightweight Bipod...So I will review that next time.

Buy once, cry once...right.

Screw a suppressor on it , you might shit your pants .

Hahaha,
nice rifle Sabre!

When I switched from a brake to a suppressor it was not a world of difference in accuracy but rather a difference in enjoyment shooting the rifle. Same recoil taming without the noise. I hardly shoot Unsuppressed now

The noise from the brake is not that bad. Maybe because I'm half deaf but I started out with foam ear plugs and electronic earmuffs and I ended up just using the foam earplugs halfway into my shoot. But a can would be nice :D

If you want another level of pants shitting, upgrade the bipod, yes the Harris works and you can be very accurate with one, but try a ckye-pod or atlas cal. Something wide with feet that don’t slip and you will be amazed again

Thanks. I just installed the elite iron revolution lightweight bipod. I like the setup. Easy to maneuver and I like the 360* cant feature as well as being able to move the legs foward & rearward. I also like the wide footprint and the lower barrel profile. Watching @Lowlight 's video on bipods sold me. I was initially worried that it wouldn't fit in my pelican case but I am able the rotate the bipod legs facing up. I cut little slits in the top foam so that the legs would be snug in the foam.

I cringe every time I see someone shooting with just ear plugs. As my doctor told me, you lose hearing two ways, through your ear canal and also through the bones in the back of your ear. Using ear plugs helps the first, but does nothing for the second. After years of shooting and riding a Harley around the country with just plugs, don't ask me how I know...…… I probably will not hear you. Do yourself a huge favor, and put the muffs back on. Hearing loss is one of the most aggravating things in the world. I always have to ask people to repeat themselves, and when with a group at a restaurant where there is background noise, I just sit and smile and act like I'm enjoying the conversation, but really have no idea what they are saying. I hear them talk, but can't make it out. That's what ear plugs gets you....

What did you say?

Great advise. Friggin hearing loss sucks in a major way. My left drum was hit hard enough from gun fire on several occasions in my teens and early 2-'s that I was in pain for days. Right is just slightly better. About the only time I can hear close to what 'normal' hearing is when I am wearing my shooting muffs with the volume up.

If you think optics are expensive, go price out some quality hearing aids.

I'll definitely wear both the plugs and electronic muffs from now on. I'm going to keep the barreled action stainless. I thought about a coating but I'd rather save that money for ammo.

Yesterday I was able to shoot out to 658 yds and I had 87% hits verses my old setup (50% hits). I still have a lot of practice to do.

Nice stick and congratulations for being a convert.

I always say that I am not rich enough to buy cheap equipment.

You try and explain it to people but it just doesn't make sense to them until they convince themselves to try a quality product and then the lightbulb comes on.

I would rather wait and buy the best that I believe I need than settle.

Amen. I'm somewhat young but 10s of thousands of rounds of .22 with no muffs when I was a kid, plus no muffs with suppressed rifles, plus machinery has left me with those exact symptoms. Can't hear people in a restaurant. Always hear the wee wee wee noise when it's quiet.

.22s and suppressed center fire rifles DAMAGE YOUR HEARING! A can is nice for hunting but repeated exposure makes you deaf.

The .22LR is a dangerous round for that, as it does not cause the ear ringing and pain that larger caliber rounds cause, and people tend to shoot them w/o protection. I have read though, that it is actually one of the most damaging rounds because of the frequency instead of the decibels.

30 plus years of construction, loud music, drag racing & shooting has caught up with me. Recently got my hearing checked, they suggested I get hearing aids. 6 grand, I said screw that so I bought a v-22 instead, plus I can’t hear the wife nag on me! Sorry OP I just had to say it ?

Very nice setup. Years of shooting uspsa and 3 gun, i tried to run the lower end stuff just to prove to myself i didnt need the other gear. There is a ceiling with upgrades...but there is a difference as long as the skillset is there to show those inprovements.

I agree. When I shot IDPA, I tried to get away with cheap a Blackhawk holster and I found myself quickly upgrading to a Comptac. The same can be said with the ammo components I bought and the stuff I tried to rig...Not anymore.

I plan on slowly building a dual purpose rifle. Ive kept coming back to the krg either w3 or xray. I like that weight can be added for prs and then lighten it to take on a hunt. Definitely gotta support the local boys and get an impact action :)
