is it possible to make a McMillan A5 or A4 out of a High grade walnut? Or would it be too much trouble trying to get it to work?

There are guys that made them out of plywood and 2x4s on here.It is alot of trouble but if you got the skills and time it makes for a good project.If it was me I would practice on a cheap piece of wood first.I have made about 5 stocks and I dont think I would do anymore myself. I think I would save my money and buy the real deal.If you have any questions let me know and I can maybe get you started if you want to try it out.
