Question about my new 700p's bolt

I just picked up my new 700p from my local shop, and I had a question I was wondering if you all could comment on. I've handled some 700p's in the past and they are all solid guns, but I was less than excited about how smooth the bolt travel is on my new rifle. It seemed pretty rough, but that just may be my perception after handling a one that is NIB. Is it just me? Are there things that can be done to make it smoother?

Re: Question about my new 700p's bolt

Put some grease on the bolt lugs and cycle away while sitting in front of the TV. Better yet, do a bunch of dry-firing exercises.

It will smooth out on its own. Just give it time.

Re: Question about my new 700p's bolt

I had gotten a new 700 sps tac little over a year ago and thought the bolt was a little rough too, but after many rounds down range and dryfire that bolt is smooth as silk. It will wear in naturally.
