I painted my Savage last night and don't like the way it came out. I know brake cleaner will remove the paint from the rifle. My question is, should I protect the glass, or any other parts as not to get the brake cleaner in it?

I would be concerned with the solvents on the lens coatings and seals. I wouldn't chance that. If it's not a big deal, paint over the scope, be careful on the stock with any bedding, plastic, rubber, etc. I would just go over that as well, krylon?

I would just go over it with another color. Maybe a very light sand to break the surface a tad, not enough to scratch metal.

if it's krylon, just respray... but I use acetone to clean krylon off scopes when needed... it takes the paint off and it's what USO and probably most scope manufacturers recommend for cleaning lenses
