Rifle Scopes Question about Redfield two piece bases.

I've got a mount with a couple of sets of rings back in the parts bin. It's part of a group of parts that I picked up a while back when I purchased a gentleman's estate so I'm almost willing to bet that this two piece base fits a Colt Sauer (almost everything else he had did).

The rings on these mounts are such that the front ring twists and locks in place while the rear ring locks in place and may even be windage adjustable by two large screws in the rear.

My question is, the rings will work on all the different mounts, correct? So if my mount are for the Sauer or a Remington or whatever and I need Savage bases, then I order the bases I need but can still use the same rings. I think that's right.

Pretty much all of the rotary dovetail rings will work on any of the rotary dovetail bases. So yes you're correct.
