When using rings that have 6 screws on one and 4 on the other, which goes where or does it matter. Does the 6 screw ring go in front or back???

excellent thanks for the info. do any of you guys know the "reasoning" behind putting the 6 up front?? other than it looking cool??
The chicks dig it factor! LOL. I guess the larger foot print of the rings helps hold the scope. I've never had a problem with regular ol' steel badger rings though.
Yea I haven't had any issue running the thin badger rings either and the only reason I went with the 6/4's this time is all I could find in stock in the right Seekins flavor.
Good stuff Rob! Any reason why Seekins followed suit? Do they make the same SIMRAD attachment for their 6 screw rings?
Not sure if Seekins makes a simrad attachment but didn't see one on their site so would think not as their site was just updated. They probably followed the design as there was a demand for it from people seeing the design on military rifles and wanting it on their rifles.
The most basic reason behind the 6/4 vs. 4/4 cap screws is due to the increased surface area of the forward ring which in turn gives you more clamping force/hold on your optic (especially useful for lighter rifles with heavier recoiling calibers). Most folks I see that run the 6/4 combo rings run them: a) because its OEM for certain mil-spec rifles (i.e. - the SIMRAD attachment point/ring cap that Rob01 previously mentioned); or b) purely for looks.
Seekins rings are so well made that there is more than ample clamping force just about any rifle/optic combo I have used with the 4/4 rings, even on extremely heavy recoiling rifles, but the 6/4 rings are just as excellent if you can't source the 4/4 rings in a pinch and they do "look" cool and give you just a little more juice when needed/wanted.
