With Remington recalling a bunch of 700s and me wanting to buy one if I were to pick one up that fell in the category of needing a recall if u replace the trigger with say a timney or similar would I still be affected by the recall? Thanks guys. Newbie here.

Well, a couple of considerations here:

1) The "unsafe" condition created by the "faulty" XMP trigger would no longer pertain to your rifle (personally, I find it easier to simply not drop a loaded/chambered weapon...)

HOWEVER

2) Your rifle's serial number would not be included on Remington's "We fixed these guns" list, should such a thing exist (I'd be shocked if it didn't); the only concern that I have here is that if there is ever any sort of situation where your rifle is discharged and there was resultant harm or damage, a lawyer could bust your chops over it.

Then again, that may be a "perfect storm of bad shit" that is so unlikely to occur as to not warrant consideration...
