Re: Question for M1A loaders
I would definitely suggest LC brass for the m1a. Reloading for it is a little different than reloading for just about any other platform (except the Garand, they are pretty similar).
The brass strength doesn't REALLY come into play unless you have an out of battery slamfire. Which is possible with these platforms. The m1a is hard on brass, and you should not reload the same brass more than 5 times, so if you buy once fired (and believe it) then you get 4 loads out of it. I follow this rule strictly, even when the brass "looks good", though I am sure there will be a bunch more experienced people explaining that they get 10+ reloads from their LC brass in m1a.
It just isn;t worth loosing fingers, hands or eyes to me.
I can't comment on Remmington specifically for the m1a, but I will never buy another batch of it after the experiences I had with it in .223.
I use LC once fired, small base dies (yes, my m1a REQUIRES them to function well, some peoples don't) and toss the brass after the 4th reload.
Just my experiences with reloading for the m1a, YMMV.
Also for excllent info on reloading for the m1a from a true expert then give Zedikers pdf files a read:
