They close up positively, but release from the folded position with just a light tug on the buttstock. To fold the stock from the open position, you have to push the button on the right side (for right-handed chassis) to unlock the folding mechanism.

Negative. We have the 2.0 chassis on our work guns and I have never seen one with any slop and that's with several hundred cycles on the hinge.
