Quick Shot Challenge: What’s the dumbest shooting myth you’ve heard?

scope mounts effect optical clarity.
I was just looking at that thread and was like WTF?
But then realized he's confused with maxing out the Erector tube and being off the optical center of the glass, which is a thing.

Edit: Or I think it is anyways, maybe not. My eyes are to shitty to tell.

it gave me the Forest Whitaker eye.

Some of the dumbest shooting myths I have heard.

@Lowlight likes Harris bipods.

Army Jerry never said “Buy more ammo”.

Theis is a Ukrainian arms dealer.

6.5 Credmoor is not gay.

This one is true because I heard him say it. FoulMike - “I’ll shoot a hole through him he couldn’t plug with a door knob”.

This is what you get when you have people that don’t know what they are talking about, describing phenomena they don’t understand.

But, I think what he was trying to describe is a real thing. The center of the optic is the clearest. Maxing out the erector moves you away from the optical center. Adding a canted rail gives you extra leeway as you adjust for elevation, keeping the reticle closer to the optical center, which is the clearest. So…

A bullet fired at a downward angle at a moving target can enter the upper back, exit the chest, change directions and then go through a car seat and through the elbow of a person and then into his leg. Just one 6.5 X 52 mm.

It's either that or shooting across a valley and through the objective lens of a scope an exiting perfectly out of the ocular lens to make a perfect entry through the eye.

Oops, did I say that out loud?

Bullets don’t experience lift. While a bullet fired from a barrel pointed “up” will rise relative to the ground, it will never rise above the centerline of the bore. It’s a pedantic argument, but less so than suppressor vs silencer.
Haha. You’re enamored with the fake line in the sky
